Lumbini Luxury Villas and Spa — Hotel in Kuta Selatan

I stay in this villa for 2 nights on Nov 2017. Book a 1-Bedroom Suite Villa directly by email to villa. Here is my impression for my stay:

Location. It is located in Jimbaran area, very close to the airport and jimbaran beach. Do notice that the villa is located in land so do not expect to have direct access to the beach but its not really a problem as jimbaran beach is close in distance. It is more likely a complex of villas as it has a lot of villas ranging from 1 bedroom to 3 bedrooms villa. All villas come with their own private pool which is very nice. As all the villas are located far from the road, it is very quite and peaceful in your room. Good to relax and enjoying the sound of bird and chicken their pet inside the complex. It feels like you are entering another world after you get inside the complex from the crowdy and busy street in front of the villa entrance.

Villa's facilities. The villas are very well maintain and design. They have main swimming pool (I think it was under renovation during my stay, did not really pay attention as we have our own private pool 😆). They have 2 restaurants, spa, kids club and departing lounge where you can stay there after check out and waiting for pick up or flight schedule. Gardens and villas are very well maintain. They give you complimentary buggy ride whenever you need from your room to the front office vv as the complex is pretty large but you can also take a walk if you like to. Its only around 5-7 minutes walk from the lobby to the most furthest villa. They also provide bicycle for use inside the complex. The villa also offer complimentary airport transfer for free in their luxury car so definitely you will travel in style.

Villa I stayed in 1-Bedroom Suite Villa with private swimming pool. It is a large villa for only 2 peoples stay in it. It has 1.2m deep swimming pool (not a plunge pool as you can really take a swim in it). Villa also has sun deck with lounger and chair, open air kitchen area with TV, and separate living area inside the bedroom. 1 special thing is they provide a PC inside your bedroom so if you dont bring your own laptop you can still use the PC provided to browse the internet etc. The bathroom is massive in size. It has a semi outdoor concept with outdoor shower, a big egg-shaped bath tub and double sink. The shower also have its own access directly to the pool so if you just finish swimming and want to clean up in the bathroom, no need to worry about making your bedroom wet when you pass it. They provide all standard amenities such as dental kit, soap and shampoo, hair dryer etc.

Food & beverages Breakfast is in buffet in the main restaurant at the center of the complex. Food variety is quite a lot and taste delicious. Not really stand out but still very good. We can also order room service and in my opinion the price is reasonable and not very expensive on hotel standard.

Overall I was very enjoying staying in Lumbini. I wish I had more time to stay there. I hope they can maintain and keep up their service quality...

Stay here at your peril! Blood stained bedding from previous guests squashed Mosquitos. I got bed bug bites on the first night. Private pool in villa visibly dirty. Clearly not maintained after every stay. Certainly wasn't maintained during our stay. Dirt and hair in the corners of the floor in the room.

Breakfast was like a hostel - very basic and ants all over the cereal section. Gym is there just so they can tick a box. It is a death trap! My husband was thrown off the running machine. It's so old and not maintained it just cut out and stopped half way through him running.

Forget having a good night sleep. No instillation and rickety doors to the outside bathroom & Toiket means it sounds like your sleeping on a formula one track. Motorbikes containstly buzzing throughout the night plus I felt myself constantly itchy because of the beg bug scenario the night before.

Do not be fooled by the 5* prices. They have no correlation with the quality or service of Lumbini. We tried to complain to management as this was not the honeymoon experience we paid for. It's a total rip off. We told them we wanted to leave and had found another hotel for the remaining five nights. The sales manager refused to speak to us, the deputy manager offered to refund just 2.5 days of the remaining 5 we had left. We explained this was not acceptable - for all the reasons above. Left us - what felt like prisoners in this dingy dark dirty villa all day. Wasted a day of our honeymoon waiting for the sales manager who in the end never turned up. The deputy manager also ended up just leaving for the day without telling us or resolving the issue. They wasted a night of our honeymoon while we looked for somewhere else to stay.

By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Was like talking to a brick wall. Should be stricken of their 5*...

This hotel is as far as it goes from a 5 star one. It's barely a 3 star. The furniture is outdated, dirty, and squeaky. The shower was overflowing. They "cleaned" our room everyday. By cleaned i mean did the bed ONLY. They don't even remove used cups or glasses. My pillow cover had traces of burns from a cigarette. It was obvious the towels had been getting re-washed for the past decade. It felt/smelled funny. Not to mention the service. If you ordered something from the restaurant, expect it getting delivered to your room in no less than 2 hours. Apart from times where we asked for service and no one contacted or came to our villa. 24hour front desk is true, but don't be surprised if you showed up and found the staff asleep lol. Don't be fooled by the pictures, it looks aesthetically pleasing but from up close, disastrous. Hospitality wasn't all that, a true 5 star hotel would have their staff greeting and welcoming their guests, didn't happen. Ants/spiders/lizards all over the bathroom (although i think that's normal for Bali). Wifi keeps getting disconnected almost every time you lock your phone and you have to put in the username and password all over again. I'll be fair and give it 1 star for the location. Only cuz its close to the beach however it's far from main areas a bit like Kuta and Seminyak. Don't recommend at all. Pick a different resort....
