Lhoknga Riverside — Hotel in Lhoknga

I definitely recommend Riverside! Every time I go to Lhoknga I stay there. I absolutely love it. The owner Sam is the best, he’s like the uncle everyone wishes they had. He always comes around at the perfect time, full of smiles and stories, making your morning or evening that much better. The staff are amazing as well, super friendly and helpful. And always serving up the most delicious meals. The women there can cook!! Its just what you look forward to after a day of exploring, or of double surfs!! The dining and lounge area is super chill with couches, tv, pool table, and of course wifi, which actually works quite well. I think people might overlook Riverside because its on the other side of the road but it actually makes for a quiet and peaceful get-away. The grounds are really big, garden-meets-jungle ha ha, and are absolutely beautiful. You can sit on your porch in the hammock lost in the midst of never-ending green, and literally drink in the tranquility. And getting to the beach is easy. You can rent a bike and get to there in just a few minutes. When I stay there I just jog over in the morning to have a look at the waves. Its a perfect little warm up. And the crazy thing is, that even though its not right on the beach, I could still hear the waves from my room!! I haven’t stayed anywhere else so I can’t really compare. I stayed at Riverside the first time I visited and have found “home". Won’t be going anywhere else. If you’re looking for home away from home, I recommend staying there too. Really makes ALL the difference when you stay at a comfortable, enjoyable place. With good food! ;) Thank you Sam and all the staff - you guys are amazing and will always keep me coming back!! From the moment you wake up for breakfast that is included, till you go to sleep, you are a part of the family here....delicious food, western food or local, cold drinks, everyone says hello to you, if you need help with a trip or a scooter or a surf board, its all too easy for the staff here, well they arent staff, they are like uncle or aunt or brothers and sisters.||Its hard to explain how spacious and spread out the property is....each bungalow is private, you can play frisbee on the lawns in between....paddle board on the river, scooter to the beach and surf or swim, and so many fun things to do...Its 10 mins into town, but its paradise out here...I dont want to leave... Sam looks after everyone, ask about his secret beach...Get Reddi to give you a surf lesson...Im 44 and he got me to surf, first try.||I was only meant to stay here 1 week, but I cancelled the rest of my trip, and stayed here as my base to explore...check out Sunset Cafe, Harry's coffee, Amir Cafe...the locals all smile and wave at you, you feel like a superstar! ||Seriously, if you could bottle this, you would be a...
