Maha Corner in Lhoknga is just an incredible spot and a stand out in all of Sumatra. It’s great for a tasty meal (Italian and Indonesian dishes and wide range of beverages) and also has beautiful cabins to stay in. Pak Sam the owner has created a very special and unique place here for Aceh using reclaimed timber. The area is quiet and picturesque and right on the beach just outside Lhoknga village. Even though it can get very busy with selfie-takers around sunset, it’s still tranquil and great to see it’s so popular with local customers as well as international tourists. The large beachfront outdoor area complete with sun loungers is perfect for enjoying the sunset and food & drinks and the cabins are nestled among the pine trees and well kept grounds. The cabins have lovely decor, quality appliances and are well-appointed ( aircon, wifi, ensuite with shower, hot water, tea/coffee, drinking water, mini fridge, comfy queen size bed, deck to sit out on). The staff are very friendly and provided us with express laundry and transport. Every time I return Sam and his team have made even more improvements and it is always so well maintained. For what you get here it’s so worth the 35mins drive from the airport even if you only have 1 night, and it’d be perfect for an...

Maha Corner is one of the best place to chill in Aceh Besar area. The place is so serene, the design is very well thought off. It’s a perfect place for relax, reading books, or daywandering. It’s a perfect place for instagram generation. But all those things seem like a facade when you compare to its service. The menu is very lacking. You aren’t given much variety of what food and beverages you can order. We ordered french fries and it took almost half an hour for the dish to be ready. Their hospitality were unpleasant. No smile and typical Indonesian warm welcome. You will get better services and hospitality somewhere else than here. I wonder if the services are better if the customers are Caucasians. What’s more shocking, when we were pulling out our cark, the parking guy asked Rp5000 for parking...

Beachside cafe and restaurant. With a beautiful view and unique design. But sorry, they need to improve the food quality. For today, i ordered the beef lasagna, pepperoni pizza, nasi goreng ayam (fried rice with chicken), roti canai and fish and chips. Pepperoni pizza, canai and the nasi goreng is good. But the beef lasagna, the chicken from nasi goreng and fish and chip need much improvent. Because the fried fish and the fried chicken was so dry in term of unpleasant to chew. The beef lasagna was so dry, didnt have enough bechamel on it, and ingredients of sofritto from the bolognese was so chunky and made the lasagna so thick . And the baked too long so the upper layer got burned.

But this place offered you a very pleasant beach view. when you need a place just to enjoy, You may...

We loved the view — it was really beautiful since it's right by the beach. However, the location felt a bit crowded, with the tables and chairs set quite close together on the beach. We only tried the margarita pizza and fries with drinks. The watermelon juice was quite sweet, but the rest was not bad. The pizza was the thin-crust type, and you could easily finish one by yourself. We managed to perform our prayers at the beautiful wooden surau. However, the ablution area is separate from the prayer area, and there's no specific space for women to pray. You’ll have to share, and it can be a bit difficult since the area is open and clearly visible from outside — there’s no curtain for privacy.

The place is very nice, calm, quite and good for you who get stress because of your work or for you who had problems. The pizzas are so good and I think better in town. But, the things that I really disappointed is the attitude of the staffs here. They only friendly to the foreigners. I don't see it when the staffs serve the local people. They don't smile, and some of them talk a bit rude to the local people when they want to order additional food. My question is why? I suggest to the owner to train and educate your staffs how to serve people very nice. No matter they are foreigner or local people. People come here to enjoy the place, food and the moment.
