Pros amazing personal space always in contact with staff to help quite private quiet, secluded place Good takeaways recommended to deliver to your villa Great hammock quaint private pool small kitchenette with fridge/freezer filtered water in room, unlimited
Cons (this is critical because of the high price) could converse with next door easily as so close could see into the next villa very easily insufficient curtains so woke up early every day inadequate air conditioning for room breakfast option only tea or coffee (only place I have been where this is the limit from 8 places in indonesia) doesn't take card payment their bank account is in Belgium??? does this mean not local run? this meant paying in euro, double conversion for us brits, not practical lots of information provided at start, some is outdated, some contradicted other points, some was just wrong
So this is most expensive place we are staying on 6 months of travelling so we had high expectations and lots of comparatives as well. I want to say I really hate to ruin a perfect score on Google but felt, everything considered, it was not justified. I try to keep my reviews constructive and please note we have contacted property directly to suggest resolutions to issues we found.
I also like to note that the journey up to the villas has not been considered at all in this review nor any animal encounters we have as this is, ofcourse, out of the control of the property.
I would also like to say we did enjoy our time at this property and would like to thank the staff involved for their work as they were always on hand to help.
So thought WhatsApp they send a large amount of information. Absolutely fine. One of the points I will paraphrase is that they will allow all orders to takeaway, massages and mini bar to be put on the bill for the hotel. So we take one of the numbers for the takeaway and ordered. Then when it was delivered they were expecting cash and I had to ask and double check. Which I was told they were expecting us to pay with cash, little confusing with the information provided but they could put it on the bill. Yes it was sorted but caused hassle while the food went cold. Then we ordered from ashtari (see a little more info on this later) and the same happened again as driver was expecting cash for the order. Sorted quicker but still annoying and not what I was expecting.
So we had our final bill which was absolutely fine. We were asked to pay via bank transfer to a bank account in Belgium in euro. They don't have card facilities and they don't offer up the indonesian bank account freely. Paying in euros from a gbp bank account for indonesian rupiah meant it unnecessarily put everyone out of pocket and made the situation a lot more troublesome than it needed to be.
Also felt like I was continously bugging them on WhatsApp for clarification on points which should have just been clearer. So I just presumed the information was right throughout but think it needs updating.
Ashtari is an Indian restaurant that deliver or you can go there for a meal. In the WhatsApp message it did mention you get delivery or get transport for free for a meal. Not sure if it just wasn't available by the restaurant that day or just not offered anymore but honestly we didn't mind paying delivery. It was some of the best Indian food I've had. Was so tasty and varied, a great choice if you are visiting.
For a hotel charging a lot of money you expect premium experience and choice in all aspects. The breakfasts options were pleasant, not overly impressive, but adequate. But this is the only place I've stayed where the only drinks offered with breakfast was just plain tea or plain lombok coffee. As someone who doesn't drink either, that's a bit lost.
The villa itself is lovely, with an earthy feel to it. It's made primarily of bamboo (as can guess from the name) and boasts an impressive structure which is keen to the eye. The hammock is a great place to sit and private pool...

Read moreStayed here for several days before and after the MotoGP weekend all organised by MST. Sandy and the team were brilliant in making our stay welcoming and memorable. Accommodation /villa consists of dining and self catering area with private “plunge pool” then above a fully AC bedroom with very comfortable bed and separate shower room off the main bedroom all very private from the other two villas. There is a restaurant within walking distance called Xanadu should you wish to dine out or you can have food delivered from the menus supplied. |Sandy organised for two 124cc mopeds for us to use. These were invaluable for getting around the island and visiting other beautiful places in Lombok.|Rooms were made up each day and the cleanliness was really good. |Access to and from the lodge can be a little daunting as mainly a dirt track but we’ll worth the effort ||terima kasih |Sandy...
