MELASA HOUSE — Hotel in Lombok

My boyfriend and I stayed at Melasa house earlier in April for 3 nights. We had travelled by boat from Gili air and it took only 45 minutes by car from the harbour to reach Senggigi, which was our first stop on Lombok. We had a wonderful time the staff, service and room were amazing! We were very well looked after, the staff spoke good English and were very friendly and in helping us organize transport for the remainder of our trip around Lombok. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean with views of the surrounding area and the sea. They had air con, TV, mini bar and a kettle to make a hot drink through out the day. Everything was very clean and tidy and the pool area was lovely and relaxing with sun loungers, umbrellas and pool towels were also provided. Just a short very cheap taxi ride to the centre of Senggigi, which offers plenty of amazing places to eat and drink. Breakfast was served each morning and fresh fruit, tea, coffee and juice was provided. Melasa house was the perfect way to start our time in Lombok, we would definitely return and thoroughly...

From the second you walk in there you feel welcome. Melasa is not your ordinary hotel. The owner of Melasa is an English man who moved to this place about ten years ago. About five years ago he built a few guest houses on his beautifull piece of land. Not because of the money, but because he wanted to do something. ||These guesthouses are managed by the most lovely woman you'll ever meet in your life. She's kind, helpfull and most of all, she is real. She's not like the most hotel folks you meet. She's fun and genuine.||The facilities are fantastic. The pool is nice and clean and there's a beautifull garden where you can feel a real piece of Indonesia. The rooms are very clean and modern, and the bathroom has a great shower. They have satelite tv, so you can watch some tv before you go to sleep. ||The breakfast is freshly made by the friendly hostess, which tasted amazing!||It felt like I had to leave home. ||You can rent a scooter at te hotel to tour trough Senggigi. The restaurants are not more than a 10...

We stayed at the Melasa House for a week. It's the perfect base to go exploring around Lombok and the Gili's. Menik on reception was extremely helpful and will happily call taxis and arrange visits on our behalf. Frank, the owner is also very friendly and made us feel very welcome, sorting a car and driver when needed. He also provided hints and tips for beaches and restaurants. Melasa house is just outside of Sengiggi and costs about 21000 rupiah to get to town each way. All of the taxi drivers know where it is and we never struggled. Menik also arranged for us to hire a bike, perfect for the days when we just wanted a day at the beach or lunch. We also went to Kuta beach on it. Would recommend Melasa house, lovely location, clean rooms. Only downside was water pressure and temperature and lack of hair dryer. Safe and fridge in room and tv with lots of channels. 24 hour security on site too, not sure if it's needed but reassuring all the same. It seems to be the done...
