Best Western The Lagoon — Hotel in Manado

Room, views and hotel service staff were very good. Given those factors I would normally give the hotel a 4 star rating. However, service and quality of food in restaurant very poor. We went to the restaurant for our evening meal and to celebrate a birthday. This turned out to be a very bad decision and experience. The waiter did not appear very interested in serving and there were long delays in food and drinks being delivered. When dishes did out it was only 1 menu item at a time and further long delays until the next item. One menu item which was ordered by two people was even delivered with the microwave cling wrap still covering the dishes. This was a first for me after visiting many restaurants around the world over many years. The final dish, a hamburger, had not been delivered after well over 1 hour so we decided to leave and went to the cashier to pay. All of a sudden the hamburger appeared from the kitchen while we were paying but we decline to return to our table after such an experience. There was 3 adults and 1 child in our group with no other people in the restuarant the whole time we were there for dinner. My rating for the dinner quality and service is 0. I stay here for a week, and here's some things:|+The option of buffet breakfast is plenty so as a vegetarian it is a great convenience for me.|-However on banquet buffet (on an event) there is one occasion where I don't have any options of vegetarian food despite the PIC already inform the team. Thankfully the situation was settled quite quickly by the team. So it's a win.||+The housekeeping team is doing a great job, the room is clean, the amenities is decent.|+The pool is nice, I love it! The view is superb.|+The receptionist are quick, and accommodating our request very well. Thanks to David and Erik that took special care to do a bunch of wake up calls for many rooms, you both are lifesaver! Thanks to Sonya who are more than happy to helps us with our extra request, and radiating warm smile event on the busiest hours.
