Monoloog Hotel Pekanbaru — Hotel in Pekanbaru

Honestly, it is a very nice hotel, good location, with affordable price. Very clean as well. But you missed some small details. There were some holes in the ceiling (next to the aircon room number 619), and water leaked from there. They don’t provide standard amenities such as slipper, toothpaste and toothbrush. Nothing. And the app. I thought it is genius to replace the phone with an app. But you must review it. First of all, the front desk didn’t respond fast. So if we need something, we have to wait quite awhile, as simple as tissue. Second, when the staff need to ask something, they will knock your door, it’s quite disturbing for me. They knocked my door twice, for cleaning and for asking wether i will extend my stay or not. Third, the app didnt work well if i didnt use hotel’s wifi. Idk. Maybe just my phone. But when i was out of hotel, the app just stopped.

I think app is not suitable here. Phone is much much better. It does not make anything simpler but even more complicated. Maybe it is working well in japan or elsewhere but here, i don’t think so. So, i think the manager should review again, is the app worked better than a phone in the room?

Overall, I’m still recommending this hotel. Very good hotel if you are okay with the flaws i mentioned above.

This hotel is easy to notice from the main road since its building is high and eye-catching. There is access for disabled people. The customer service officers' service is kind and helpful. After you checked in, you will get a special account for wifi and Red Planet apps. Talking about the room fare, it is not cheap yet expensive for two stars hotel. You will not get breakfast service, toothbrush, and toothpaste. But you can pay extra charge for Rp. 45.000 for breakfast dinner. The room will be cleaned around 9 AM. In the room you will not find any cupboard, table, chair, slippers, or trash can. But you can get two bottles of water, clothes hangers, and towels. The bathroom is small. There is a shower without bathtub. There shower has hot, warm, and cold water. Overall, it is recommended to stay here but you have to consider if you bring many...

The room is smelly, like someone just smoking yet the room we ordered is non smoking room. We asked for changing room but all the rooms are smoke smell. The receptionist just mentioned that they can’t control if the guest is smoking in the room. How come? The aircon is not cold at all, even I had set it to cold 16 degree full fan, still feels like just fan. No mineral water provided yet they provide water jug and glass without kettle, am I supposed to drink directly from the tap water? Neither toothbrush and toothpaste is provided. Overall the hotel is just overrated...
