Kedai Oma Mall Pekanbaru — Restaurant in Pekanbaru

I can say I'm a frequent visitor that come here mostly for their soto 😂 Located in mall pekanbaru top floor. I went here for quick lunch with my friend. Parking is okay since mall area is always got a spot 🤔

Upon entering, i was feeling quite sad about the ambience and cleanliness, usually located inside shopping mall, you'll expect that it will have good and clean space. I can see it clean but it's not the type you see in the shopping mall 😅 lighting is a bit dim, i would suggest owner to improve it. Table and seating is good, well maintained.

When taking seatings, the waiter will give you the menu. There you can choose to look at the menu first or order immediately. There's fried snacks, keropok, kueh2 on the counter that's available for customers, can ask the staff to cut it for you, but the fried snacks was not crispy alrdy, so i don't rly recommend it. It will be better to choose kueh or keropok. I ordered nasi ayam kremes this time and cold iced tea.

Ayam kremes (26.000) The chicken is always taste like rubber, not cooked well. I thought after ordering other chicken dishes they'll improve well, but that's not the case 🤦‍♀️. The veggies is ok, sambal is good. Just the chicken 😅 i can say thia bc last time i ordered ayam geprek, tasted like rubber as well 😭

cold iced tea (6.000) It's either 6.000 or 8.000 i can't remember 😅 hard to go wrong so no comment.

fried tofu and fried tempeh (around 2.500-5.000) I just hope they can make it crispy 😅

I won't recommend their local like nasi ayam (geprek/penyet/kremes) bc the chicken was not cooked properly. BUT I RECOMMEND their nasi soto medan and Cah mie series, it's very homey and delicious 😋. It got distinct taste of chinese food from it and always served hot 😍.

Price was not so bad for the location in mall, they don't have the option of paying with e-money (shopeepay/gopay/ovo), but they have option to pay with debit or credit card, altho very inconvenient bc the signal usually so bad. I recommend bring cash to eat here since it will save...

Kedai Oma has several branches, the branch at Mall Pekanbaru is the most legendary branch. Ntah kenapa setiap x ke sini selalu yg dipesan nasi bakar dan nasi goreng bakar. Nggak ada bosennya. Kadang beli kolak ubi putih dan ubi ungu enak x rasa ubi dan santannya. Kalau soal makanan enak rasanya yg dibakar dan digoreng tapi kalau soal minuman biasa aja sama seperti yg ada diluaran. Mending pesan teh manis dingin atau air mineral aja menurut saya biar ga mengecewakan. Pelayanan emg kurang ya jadi ya kita kita sebagai pengunjung inisiatif aja nanya duluan dan memaklumi.
