I recently had the pleasure of staying at Masakali Retreat, and I must say it was an absolute delight. Nestled amidst lush greenery and picturesque landscapes, this retreat is a haven for those seeking peace, tranquility, and a break from the chaos of everyday life.
The first thing that struck me upon arrival was the serene ambiance that enveloped the entire property. The retreat is situated away from the bustling city, allowing guests to truly disconnect and immerse themselves in nature's beauty. The staff welcomed me with warm smiles and ensured that every aspect of my stay was taken care of. They are also very helpful, we checked in at midnight, and along the way to the resort you have to walk 2-3 mins without lights(but do not worry.. it’s not that bad you can still pull your luggage.that night the staff help us with our bag.
The accommodations at Masakali Retreat are simply exquisite. I stayed in one of their spacious and well-appointed cottages that offered breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The room was tastefully decorated with modern amenities, while still maintaining a rustic charm that blended seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
The retreat offers a plethora of activities for guests to enjoy. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, adventure seeker, or simply looking to unwind, Masakali Retreat has something for everyone. We particularly enjoyed to stay in the room. You can have a walk in the area if you love walking. For spa, you have choice to even massage at your own room.
The dining experience at Masakali Retreat is simply delightful. The on-site restaurant offers a diverse menu of delicious dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Every bite is a flavorful delight, beautifully presented and showcasing the culinary expertise of the talented chefs. From the rich and aromatic flavors to the nourishing and wholesome meals, dining at Masakali Retreat is a treat for the senses.
The staff at Masakali Retreat deserves special mention for their exceptional hospitality. They were attentive, friendly, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure a memorable experience for every guest. From arranging transportation for sightseeing to providing valuable recommendations about nearby attractions, their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident throughout my stay.
If you're looking for a place to escape the chaos of the city and immerse yourself in nature's tranquility, Masakali Retreat is the perfect destination. It offers a serene and idyllic setting, luxurious accommodations, delightful cuisine, and a range of activities to cater to every need. I left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and longing to return to this hidden gem in the...
Read moreI rarely write negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share our experience at this hotel.||The hotel consists of several villa-style rooms hidden among lush greenery. Upon arrival, the reception was empty, and we had to search for staff, who were surprised to see us. They quickly took us to our villa — Jala Villa — which did not match our booking for Surya Villa, known for its rice field view. Jala Villa is located near the entrance, surrounded by dense plants blocking any view.||The staff insisted we had booked Jala Villa and showed it on their system. However, my Booking.com confirmation clearly stated Surya Villa. When I asked if we could move, I was told the hotel was fully booked. They suggested contacting their manager, Ira, who responded via WhatsApp.||From the start, Ira was unhelpful and dismissive. Despite seeing the mismatch between my booking and their records, she told us to “ask Booking” and even gave us the owner’s number instead of resolving the issue herself. She claimed she was just a “guest assistant” with no authority. She also mentioned the rice fields were not planted at that time — something that should be disclosed beforehand.||Later, a senior staff member kindly showed us two available villas — Chandra and Lakshmi — and admitted it was a booking error that had happened before. However, he needed Ira’s approval to relocate us. When we asked Ira if we could move to Lakshmi Villa, she agreed but demanded an extra 1,000,000 IDR.||When I asked whether we’d get a refund if we stayed in the cheaper Jala Villa instead of the more expensive Surya Villa, she mocked our question, saying Surya Villa was already occupied.||Eventually, we were moved to Chandra Villa, which was better than Jala but still didn’t meet the Surya Villa standard.||Issues with Chandra Villa:|• Towels were stained yellow|• No toiletries provided|• Breakfast was served on dirty banana leaves|• Bathroom was poorly cleaned||My recommendations to the owner:|• Replace Ira with a more professional and helpful manager|• Provide clean towels and basic toiletries in each villa|• Improve hygiene standards for breakfast and bathrooms|• Notify guests in advance if rice fields won’t be visible|• Train staff to communicate effectively with guests||Our day was ruined, and we will not return or recommend this...

Eventually, we were moved to Chandra Villa, which was better than Jala but still didn’t meet the Surya Villa standard.
Issues with Chandra Villa: • Towels were stained yellow • No toiletries provided • Breakfast was served on dirty banana leaves • Bathroom was poorly cleaned
My recommendations to the owner: • Replace Ira with a more professional and helpful manager • Provide clean towels and basic toiletries in each villa • Improve hygiene standards for breakfast and bathrooms • Notify guests in advance if rice fields won’t be visible • Train staff to communicate effectively with guests
Our day was ruined, and we will not return or recommend this...
