Look no further for your mountain getaway in Bali than Padma Ubud! We found the resort to be very beautiful, clean, up to date with modern amenities, plenty of space to wander the resort, lots of on site activities, excellent food, and a stunning large infinity pool. The staff on the property are so friendly, always smile, and always ensure our stay has been incredible. We have really enjoyed all the staff at the resort!
Rooms: The rooms are very spacious with a large balcony that was very comfortable during our stay. Daily room servicing and nightly turn downs were well appreciated.
Food: the included daily breakfast was absolutely incredible! There was a wide variety of food suitable for anyone. They also have cook to order eggs which was perfect for us and so delicious. We loved eating at Puhu for the views at breakfast. We had very nice dinners at the pool bar restaurant with live music which was a nice touch each night. The wait staff were all very attentive and friendly in all the restaurants. We also did some of the special F&B programmed dinners of the exquisite 3 course in the Puhu restaurant and romantic dinner in the birds nest. Both dinners had a set menu that was excellent and beautifully plated. Our waitress, Rasti, for the romantic dinner was so attentive and made the night very special for my husband and I.
Recreation: we HIGHLY recommend booking some of the activities that the resort has to offer. We absolutely loved the Bali Voyage and Chasing Waterfalls. We had our own private driver in a classic VW convertible and private tour guide (Padma employed and English speaking) throughout the adventure. Huge shoutout to our private guides Fiskah and Agus who made our adventures so much more fun. We enjoyed talking and laughing with them along the way and learning more about the Balinese culture that we wouldn’t have gotten without them. The tours took us through parts of Bali we wouldn’t have seen otherwise, and the stops along the way were so perfect. Not to mention the guides were also our own personal photographer/videographers. The adventures were a highlight of our trip. We also did the local cycling tour which was very fun to ride through the local villages with stops along the way. The resort also offers a free shuttle into Ubud center which was great to explore the town.
Spa: you have to visit the spa while staying at Padma Ubud! It is so uniquely and beautifully built. The rooms are clean and the therapists (Desi and Suksi) are absolutely incredible. Hands down one of the best massages we have ever had. Not to mention they are very affordable.
Resort amenities: We did the walk down to the bamboo bridge on property which was quite the workout, but exactly what we were looking for and so beautiful. We also visited the animal garden which was fun to see and feed the animals with a personal favorite being the otters. The gardens on site are beautiful and love the use of recycled bottles to line the paths throughout the garden. The gym was smaller but very clean and had enough space for use of free weights and treadmills which is what we wanted.
Overall: we can’t recommend that Padma resorts enough!! We had a wonderful honeymoon in Bali at Padma Legian and Padma Ubud and would recommend both resorts to anyone and hope to back again some day. If you are not sure which one to book, book both for a mountain and beach adventure. Top notch resorts!! We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you Padma for an incredible...
Read moreI will give 5 stars overall, but please read full review for detailed review to notice some things! We spent a week in this resort and I want to share a detailed review for others to consider: Good things: Pool is fantastic! It’s 31C, very warm, doesn’t smell like chlorine, beautiful! The location of the hotel is also nice cause you are up in the mountain so it’s not very humid and there is a nice breeze. It’s very comfortable especially if you are not very good with heat. Overall food is nice - breakfast buffet has a good selection and everything we ordered from the menu was fresh and pretty tasty! The hotel territory is nice! You can walk around. And there is a small petting zoo! Yoga class was good and it is in a nice location. I had a massage at SPA and it was great! Very relaxing and nicely done! Floating breakfast was great as well! The hotel is very clean! And the team who cleaned our room did fanatic job as well! They give you 4 glass bottles of water a day and you can ask more if required. We ordered grab to go to restaurants and never had issues with drivers. Wi-Fi is pretty reliable. We also arranged the airport pick-up from the hotel - the car was a nice SUV and the driver was nice. Highly recommend after long flight! There is a mix of different nationalities and mix of families with kids and couples.
Things to improve/note for a 5 star resort (I would not, probably, notice them in other parts of the world or if it was cheaper):
They ask you to pay via their internal system after I made the reservation via booking com which is weird Service - overall the service was good, but sometimes it’s funny. Like 3 people will sit you at breakfast table but then they will say “oh sorry this table is already occupied” and need to move you. Or 3 people will ask if you want a coffee and then no one brings it. It’s not critical, but something to improve. My husband has a food allergy but they kept asking every day if we have any allergies and kept asking for room number (it’s the same for a week) and there are not that many guests. There are some umbrellas near the pool but the sun is very strong so I think they should invest in larger umbrellas. There are very simple sun-beds, not plush ones. As the pool is the main attraction here, I think they needed to be upgraded. They don’t offer water while you spent time near the pool which I think should be provided. Also, they have 3 towel boys but it’s very slippery near the pool and no one mops the floor, except one dedicated person. There are literally only 2 songs they play near the pool over and over, maybe they should add at least a few more for variety. Menu didn’t have any açai bowls or healthy bowls - I think Bali is known for those instagrammable bowls, but menu here is more American style. However! You can order smoothie bowl or chia bowl for breakfast if you order one day in advance. I found out about it accidentally from another couple. No one tells you that. I guess it’s secret menu like at Starbucks. Room layout is weird. The toilet is not separated from shower or dress closet so when someone uses the restroom you need to close all heavy wood doors to get some privacy. So make sure you are okay with that (attached photo).
Overall, we had a very good time here and I didn’t regret my choice. I had this hotel in my bucket list for years and I am happy we...

Nestled in the serene jungle of Ubud, the Padma Resort offers an experience that far exceeds its price point. Our three-night stay at this stunning property, booked through TripAdvisor Plus for just $600 (including breakfast), was nothing short of exceptional. This resort combines boutique charm with impeccable service, making it a perfect choice for travelers seeking both luxury and intimacy.
Property and Amenities:
The resort itself is a visual masterpiece. Set against breathtaking natural landscapes, it boasts incredible views that create a sense of tranquility and escape. The thoughtful holiday decorations added a festive charm to the property during our visit, and the on-site amenities, including a spa, restaurants, a bar, and various activities, catered to every need. Whether relaxing poolside or exploring the grounds, we felt surrounded by luxury and care.
Dining Experience:
The dining experience at Padma Resort was a highlight of our trip. The staff at the resort’s Puhu restaurant deserve special recognition for their extraordinary attention to detail, particularly in accommodating dietary restrictions. My wife, who follows a gluten-free and vegan diet, was consistently surprised by the innovative and delicious meals crafted for her. From fresh dosas and açaí bowls to vegan pancakes and bread, the chefs went above and beyond, creating meals that were both flavorful and nourishing. It was heartwarming to see her enjoy food so freely, a rarity given her dietary needs.
Rooms:
Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The bathroom and shower were modern and luxurious, perfectly complementing the overall ambiance of the suite. The only minor drawback was the air conditioning system, which could not be set below a pre-determined temperature. While this was a slight inconvenience, it did little to detract from the overall comfort and enjoyment of our stay.
Service and Staff:
The staff at Padma Resort exemplify the renowned hospitality of Balinese culture. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with warmth and attentiveness. Every interaction, whether with the housekeeping team or the restaurant staff, left us feeling valued and cared for. The team at Puhu restaurant, in particular, stood out for their dedication and personal touch, ensuring every meal was a delight.
Final Thoughts:
Padma Resort Ubud is a gem that delivers exceptional value for its price. The combination of stunning surroundings, thoughtful amenities, and top-tier service makes it one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Whether you’re seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a solo retreat, this property is bound to leave a lasting impression.
We left Padma Resort Ubud with hearts full of gratitude and unforgettable memories. This is a destination we would return to without hesitation.
