Definitely one of the best options in Rote for travellers who seek the comfort of a Balinese-style resort on this still-"rustic" island. The staff is the best part of it, everyone is super nice and friendly, and makes efforts to go the extra mile to help customers on any kind of need. Rooms are spacious, simply yet elegantly decorated, with enormous open-air bathrooms one can literally take a nap in (on hammocks, under a coconut palm or banana plant). The view on the prospecting beach is spectacular at sunset and the swimming pool even too "sophisticated" for the development levels of the island. One could argue that this place is even "too much" for this still remote island and if you are visiting Rote seeking something unspoiled by modern tourism you should probably steer clear of this place. But for most well-accustomed tourists, few places can beat it. One star less because of the unbearable noise cracking out of the nearby church speakers at night until 10pm and from the cocks that sing at 5.30am from all the surrounding area. But something tells me these things won't last long, considering the likely development of Rote in...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I spent nearly two weeks at Seed Resort on Rote. I love this place. It' quiet, beautiful, chilled and the pool is amazing. T-land is a short walk an a boat ride away and Boa, another wave, is 15 mins by scooter. We stayed in the beachfront bungalow that is an old Javanese hut that they relocated and refurbished for the resort. It has an outdoor bathroom out the back with two hammocks for relaxing in private. The pool is the best. You can lie at the beach end and watch some of the best sunsets you'll ever see whilst sipping on a cocktail of your choice. The food was really good. Fresh produce with a good menu and some neat breakfasts including chia seed puddings, granola with coconut yogurt etc. The staff were still getting a grasp of a few things and some of the food items were never available but due to it's remote location it's easy to understand why. Would stay there again in...
Read moreRote Island is beautiful and so much more. But thanks to Seed, my memory of this island will be unforgettable. Specifically, I am talking about the Boat and Kayak trips curated personally to our interests and executed so well– boat rides and lunches included! Additionally, the crew (Faisal and Bojes) goes far & beyond setting up an aesthetically pleasing tent to unwind and relax to enjoy the fresh grilled fish. If you are an avid kayaker, do so on the Kayak Trip. The mangrove is like nothing I have ever seen before with such a diverse landscape with many nooks and crannies. Oh. And Do’o, the most breathtaking island with pink sands and turquoise water-- all of this for yourself?? I would highly recommend this service or trip to anyone staying at the Resort or Rote at large. Very reasonable price for excellent and if not glam service– experience true nature minus...
