Pulau Weh Resort — Hotel in Sabang

Weh Island is where you can find a laid back and quiet atmosphere. The town is Sabang. |Pulau Weh Dive Resort (PWDR) is 45 mins drive from sea port. |what i like about the resort: |- the resort is all inclusive with 2 options : Diver or Non Diver package , so you can get 3 meals a day, with snacks and a glass of fresh juice after every dive.|- Short boat distance from famous dive sites ( The Canyon is only 15 mins boat rides) , Batee Tokong, Arus Balee, and Seulako Luar sites are 5 mins away from the jetty. |- Air Conditioned rooms and dedicated hanger string outside your bathroom to hang your diving gears|- Enjoy surface interval in the resort, you can use toilet while doing surface interval (extra comfort) |- Currently it's the most luxurious resort in Weh Island. You can't go wrong. See it in my pictures.|- long jetty with superb view over the horizon (this has been attracting many visitor who wants to take best scene of Iboih beach) |- the longest beach strip on the island with private fence, so you will not be disturbed with outsiders.|- good food, cozy dining room. the Chef's speciality is Chinese food. Free flow of coffee,tea, mineral water every day!|- exceptional ocean View if you take Ocean View Bungalow . ||- Family Friendly: you can take your kids for swimming / snorkeling under the jetty, their house reefs is good. Relaxing in one of their beach hammocks, playing with their 2 lovely dogs . Playing on the white sandy beach, go barefeet! |- smooth check in and check out.|note: better to bring snacks on your own, you can buy it in Sabang city before you arrive. ||Diving: the best time to dive is between May - Oct or where West Monsoon wind is blowing. if you're lucky, you can find Mola-Mola fish or Whale Shark in one of the dive sites. |The visibility was excellent in every dives. Weh is the place for eel, giant travelly, sea turtles, and colorful fishes.||need improvement:|- we experienced poor cell phone signal in our room no 9 and wi-fi connection. But you can receive better signal in the Garden View Rooms or Restaurant.|||extra points from me : my diving booties were left in the resort, they shipped them to my house. thanks to PWDR team. i will recommend to anyone who would like to experience more...

Quiet and comfy resort. 4 yrs old resort with super friendly and accommodating staff. Big room with AC, fridge, nice in door and out door shower by your room.Lots of storage. Bugalows by the ocean. No stairs to climb. Hot water in room. Clean and nicely manicured garden. Serve Chinese and Indonesian foods every day with drinks, fruits are slightly on the short side but always serve fresh juices between dives. Love the Indonesian chips.The DMs are very friendly and helpful. We spent 6 days and dived 5days. Great dive sites with wide variety of fishes, sea turtle, giant eels, octopus, eagle rays, sharks, barracudas etc..||||According to Berty the manager, they are building more facilities and relocating the dive shop. ||||Dive equipment is available and reasonable for rental. Missed Happy the cute dog there. We had 2 night dives by the house reef and the charge was very reasonable. $ 15 non guided. $25 guided. Berty well organized all the pickups and drop offs between Banda Aceh airport to ferry and ride to resort.||||Last day we spent a day with the English speaking guide/driver in Banda Aceh. Itfan drove us to many interesting sites including the Tsunami Museum, Museum of Banda Aceh and local market. Took us to try out many local restaurants and Indonesian coffees. Great local experience. ||||Banda Aceh people are friendly. Most do not speak English. No issues there and just be respectful and dress conservatively will attract less unnecessary attention. Lots of local small shops that operate on cash basis. A friend can go to local ATM to withdraw rupiah.||||Stayed in Oasis hotel in Banda Aceh. Old hotel but overall clean. breakfast is nice.||||BTW no issue with earthquake even it was recorded 6.3 a week...

Why was it great? This place is using PAPER STRAWS! Good job in participating in the attempt to save the environment; perhaps more live corals will come back up. Owners are sensitive to the guests' needs; thank you for letting us used your personal Aloe Vera gel for our sun burn. Good cook and generous. The room is specifically designed for water sports activities; for example, the bathroom has two doors and one of them is access-able thru the back door (you can go directly to the bathroom without making your room wet/ dirty).
