RAY INN Hotel — Hotel in Sumatra

Room||||As we really needed to stay overnight in Tebing we thought of at least checking out the new Ray Inn Hotel. We walked in around 13.00 h and found that de VIP and Executive Rooms were already booked. So we ended up in a Deluxe room. The room was clean, rather small but came with everything one can hope for: hot/cold shower, AC, TV, and most important for me working fast internet access plus a chair and small desk.||||Coffee shop||||The half open outdoor coffee shop where food and breakfast is served is a pleasant place to sit and watch street activities in front. ||||Breakfast||||The breakfast, which is included in the room price, is served by order and one can choose from Indonesian dishes to a Continental version, egg on toast. This I really appreciated as normally even in the better hotels one ends up with a luke warm very spicy Indonesian buffet breakfast.||||Hotel for overnight stay||||Guests arriving at KNO on a late afternoon or early evening flight heading for Lake Toba many times stay overnight in Medan and spend most of the next day travelling to Lake Toba. The Ray Inn Hotel, which is just midway Medan and Parapat, offers a perfect alternative for staying overnight in Medan. As the Hotel is just off the main road, some 25 m, it is also easy to access when one travels with public transport or shared taxi. From the hotel, the main road, it is easy to find public transport to Parapat. The ride with public transport to Parapat will take some 2.5 hrs as compared to the 5 to 6 hrs from Medan.||||Room rates and food||||For what the hotel offers the room rates are very reasonable, if not cheap. Food and beer are about the cheapest I have ever come across in Indonesia. As the portions are rather small one may consider to order double portions and in the end it is still cheap.||||Staff and services||||We found the staff helpful and friendly and we like to commend to the Management Waiter Fira who did an outstanding job in the coffee shop.||||Rating||||Keeping in mind other options for staying in Tebing the Ray Inn Hotel is about the best thing which happened in the hospitality sector in Tebing since a long time. If one has to or wants to stay in Tebing the Ray Inn Hotel is the place and notwithstanding a few minors which have been reported upon by other reviewers I happily give the Ray Inn...

First time you see this hotel, you wouldn't think this is hotel. It's more like shophouse. This hotel merge maybe about 5 shophouses become a hotel. First think first is there wasn't elevator, so prepare your extra energy if bring a lot of stuff or you can get some help from bellboy. Next, quite enough comfortable room. Most OK hotel in Tebing, I had the room with twin bed and there's no sink in the shower room, it's hard to brush Ur teeth or just washing hands.
