RedDoorz @ Tuktuk Danau Toba — Hotel in Sumatra

I want to start by saying it looks like this hotel used to be amazing, but sadly it is now an abandoned building for which no one seems to care for it.

I would give 0 stars if I could, when we arrived the place was deserted, it looks like a scene out an apocalypse, nothing has been cleaned in atleast a year, thick dust and cobwebs everywhere. The only member of staff we could find for the first hour was a little cat, which we named mee maow. The staff was never at the front desk, only a peice of paper with a contact number for which they don't reply to your text or phone call.

The room it's self looks nothing like the pictures except for the fact the room does infact have a bed. The room was covered in thick dust and cobwebs, what looked like blood on the wall from squished mosquitoes, the ceiling was falling down, mouldy walls in the bathroom, and a mouldy used cigarette on the cabinet in what was meant to be a non-smokers room. Also no hot water in the shower was a bit disspointing.

We had booked 2 nights, and because of the lack of workers anywhere, I had to file a complaint with agoda on the first day we arrived. We finally had a worker knock on our door on our last night at 9:30pm asking if we wanted to change rooms (the room he was offering I saw in the door the day previous and was not in a much better condition). I then asked why this was happening now at 9:30pm on our last night to which he walked away. As of writing this I am still in contact with agoda about this sorry excuse of a hotel.

Do not waste your money here to save money on a hotel, ther other budget rooms around are well worth the little bit...

I shouldn't be giving any stars to this place. I understand due to covid-19 alot of hotels suffer a great lost, but when things are recovering slowly, these hotels have to wake up. All these while they were making good money/income and the owners were just greedy getting good income and investing the profits eles where. Now just wake up and upgrade your beautiful place like it was before. Earlier you might have had 20 staff and now only 4. That's why the house keeping, maintance, food, entrainment and ect. are all laking. Please wake up don't make your place looking too tired. Give it a new life and do your own advertising. Don't push to commission agents like agoda, oyo, redooz etc. to wake you up. Get some young staff with new ideas and latest ways of doing Hotel management. Hope to see you...

I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was a nightmare. The room was absolutely filthy, with dust and grime everywhere. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years, resembling an abandoned house more than a place to stay. The bed linens were stained, and the bathroom was in a shocking state.
