Hotel Suramadu — Hotel in Sumenep

I stayed only for a night in this hotel last weekend, Nov 13th, 2015. I picked the standard room since I traveled alone and did not really need fancy stuff. When the female room staff opened the door of the room, I quickly smelled cigarette smoke and the staff turned on the AC. I did not protest as I thought the smoke would be fading if I opened the window. After she left, I opened the window and kept the AC on. ||In the evening, I turned the tv on and it showed lot of channels. Very good. I also ordered some snack and before long, it was on the table in the room. :) ||Bathroom was clean enough with shampoo and liquid soap small containers attached to the bathroom wall. ||You can also choose, either having breakfast in the room or in the lobby. I chose the former. There were only 2 options for my breakfast menu: nasi goreng or toast. I ordered nasi goreng. :) ||All in all, it was quite nice. A local young man told me that you can also ask the hotel staff to ride you to the city center for free. Apparently, the hotel is not too far from the center. ||No in-room WiFi provided, but I did not have much trouble sending texts using my 4-yr-old BlackBerry, to friends from the room 150...

I often visit Sumenep in Eastern Madura. This hotel meets my needs - clean, friendly and comfortable. The design is original and makes for a secluded stay. The room I stayed in was the "Superior" which was the third quality after "VIP 1" and "VIP 2" but above "Standard"and it was spacious, had two generous-sized beds, an attached bathroom with hot and cold shower and western toilet. There was a television (local channels only) and aircon. Plenty of towels and a soap/shampoo dispenser, and two bottles of bottled water. The restaurant attached is quite acceptable. I have stayed in this hotel several times and found it excellent value. It is clean, friendly and the rooms have all the basic facilities - aircon, hot and cold shower, TV (local stations only), free wifi in lobby area, clean beds and a simple breakfast included.
