Mercure Tangerang Centre — Hotel in Tangerang

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wonderful Stay at Mercure Tangerang Center (19–21 August 2025)

This was my second visit to Mercure Tangerang Center, and once again, I was warmly welcomed right from the reception desk. Prior to my arrival, I had informed the Hotel Manager, Mr. Agung Ramdhan, of my preferences — and he truly went above and beyond.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive much more than I expected. I was given a beautiful Junior Suite, and upon entering the room, I was greeted by a personal welcome message on the mirror: "Welcome to Mercure Tangerang Center, Mr. Sinar." That thoughtful gesture set the tone for an exceptional stay.

Alongside the warm welcome, I received a selection of pastries, a fresh orange, and an extra bottle of mineral water — in addition to the standard four complimentary bottles. Small details like these make a big difference.

During my stay, I requested an iron, which was promptly provided — a great help for business travelers like myself.

Another touch I truly appreciated was the daily morning greetings from the hotel staff — a small gesture that made me feel truly valued and at home.

One of the most memorable parts of my stay was the breathtaking view from Room 701. At night, the lights of Tangerang painted a truly beautiful picture. In the morning, the view from the swimming pool area was equally stunning and peaceful.

"The more stars you have, the higher expectations you will gonna get from the guest"

Staying here for two nights for my business trip and here are my bad impressions of the Hotel: No handsoap. I need to go to the shower area and use body soap to wash my hand. This is critical because even lower rated hotels provide hand soap.

Breakfast option is terrible. The food is cold even when I went as early as 6 AM. Then, I dont know who design the menu but imagine having 4 carbohydrate options (2 rice, 1 noodle, 1 potato), 1 veggie, 1 protein as your breakfast. What is the point of choosing carbohydrates? Where is the fun? Cutting cost at its finest. Even the pastry have no butter and no pancake/waffle on my 2nd breakfast.

Breakfast service is poor. You need to grab your own, no tea/coffee by the table service. Even when the restaurant is empty (i always do my breakfast at 6AM to avoid crowd) there is no staff kind enough to give table service like that. Food stall (bubur) also unattended, I think staff can fill in and help guest taking food from stalls.

The room design is OKAY for a 4 star hotels. BUT the noise isolation can be improved. I can hear other people talking through my room and can hear them showering through my bathroom.

Room design is bare minimum for any hotel but experience is also IMPORTANT to distinguish a good hotel and great hotel.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mercure Tangerang Centre, and overall, my experience was quite positive. The hotel boasts a wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, and comfortable accommodations, making it a great place to stay. However, a couple of areas could need some attention for an even better guest experience.

While the food quality was satisfactory, I felt the variety to be quite limited. It would be fantastic to see an increase in the breakfast menu, with more options that cater to varied tastes and dietary needs. A more varied menu would surely improve the overall eating experience for guests.

Additionally, the parking situation may be improved. While the hotel does provide parking, it could be beneficial to evaluate and optimise the current system to better satisfy the needs of all guests.

Finally, Mercure Tangerang Centre provides a pleasing atmosphere, attentive personnel, and pleasant accommodations, making it an excellent place to stay. With some attention given to the variety of breakfast selections and parking facilities, this hotel has the potential to significantly improve the visitor experience.
