Hotel Regina Goren — Hotel in Ashkelon

We booked this hotel through 'Booking' and everything was wrong from the get go. We had two rooms booked with breakfast included. On arrival at the hotel we checked in just one of the rooms, and we were told immediately that there is no breakfast served at the hotel, something which was a deciding factor for booking the hotel, the lady at reception proceeded to tell us that she would refund the breakfast amount and we solemnly wandered up to the room to check in our family member. ||The room was clean enough and had everything you would expect in a budget hotel including only 3 tv channels :/ ||Once we had finished settling in our family member we returned to the front desk and inquired about our check in a couple of days later. We asked if we would also receive a refund for the breakfast and we were told yes but given a different amount. When asked why the prices for breakfast were different the lady at reception began to stutter and was unable to give me a solid answer, she then proceeded to take out a calculator and tried to work everything out, but even then we couldn't get a straight answer out of her. She mumbled quietly various amounts and nothing seemed to be decisive, this lead me to believe that the hotel seems to make up amounts on the spot. I certainly got the feeling that there was something shady going on! ||When we did check in we found the amount for breakfast to be different again and we went up to check our room. Unlike our family member's room our room was stuffy, smelt of mould and the air con didn't work and was also full of mould. When we spoke to the lady at reception she told us that we had to wait for the room to air out and for the air con to work properly after a certain amount of time. I explained this was an unacceptable answer but she didn't seem to care. ||On top of everything else there is another lady constantly present in the lobby of the 'hotel' who always interrogates you when you walk into the place, without any explanation, but her aggressive manner makes every trip across the lobby very uncomfortable. ||The 'hotel' just gives off a very bad vibe and it's nothing to do with it being budget, we have stayed in plenty of nice budget hotels. ||This isn't my best review but I just have nothing good to say about the place and even thinking of it just makes me want to get this over with.||Needless to say despite having paid we did not stay in the accommodation and...

From the very beginning, this hotel leaves a bad impression. First, Google maps brings you to the front of the hotel, where there is no entrance. After you figure that out, and circle around to the back, you enter through a hole in the fence of what looks like an abandoned area into a DIRT parking lot, littered with trash. After dragging your luggage through the dirt, trying to figure out if you're actually at an entrance, you reach the lobby to be greeted by unfriendly staff! The hotel is in a great location near a beautiful beach park within a short walk, but the key here, is there are likely many better hotels! Any other hotel would be better!||||After a nice dinner down on the waterfront, we came back to our room exhausted at the end of a long Israel tour, and just wanted to get to sleep. After showering in the dirty shower, with mold along the floor and ceiling, we tried to go to sleep. It was so noisy, it was impossible. There was a group of kids running up and down the hall, screaming and yelling, slamming doors that go between the hall and front desk lobby. They were completely out of control. After more than two hours of listening to it, I went out to complain to the front desk, where I got no help at all. I guess there was some kind of party downstairs, and the staff didn't care to intervene or try and quiet things down. ||||After very little sleep, we went to a disappointing breakfast. I desperately needed coffee, and they didn't even have that! Just a pot of hot water and a jar of coffee grounds you stir in. Not instant coffee, which would have been better because at least it dissolves. ||||I couldn't wait to get out of that...

Отпуск выпал у нас с женой на конец октября - начало ноября. Наши основные приоритеты - это тёплое море, возможность посмотреть интересные места, посидеть в уютных кафешках, шопинг. На этот раз наши традиционные средиземноморские курорты отпали по климатическим соображениям, Турция/Египет/ нас никогда не вдохновляли, длительные перелёты уже слишком утомительны. |||| В общем, после раздумий, советов, знакомством с отзывами наших предшественников остановились на Израиле, тем более что побывать там ещё не приходилось (вообще-то мы побывали довольно много где в Европе и даже в США, так что, скорее, опытные туристы). В Израиле выбрали самый южный город Ашкелон, решив поехать туда «неорганизованными» путешественниками. |||| Проживание. Пожалуй, самая важная часть моего повествования. Многие, с кем мы общались перед поездкой, сетовали на дороговизну жилья. Отпуск у нас получался довольно длительный (почти три недели), и мы решили снять частное жильё. И вот здесь нас ожидал настоящий прокол! Мало того, что «квартира» была практически непригодна для жилья, так за три недели устанавливали порядка 1000 ЕВРО! Около 3 км от пляжа!|||| В общем, вызвали мы такси, назвав адрес ближайшего отеля Regina. И ЭТО ОКАЗАЛОСЬ НАШИМ САМЫМ УДАЧНЫМ ДЕЙСТВИЕМ! Этот отель – один из трёх основных на побережье Ашкелона (позже мы познакомились с другими). Через дорогу – превосходный центральный пляж «Далила». Надо отметить, что пляж благоустроенный: есть туалеты, раздевалки и душевые, беседки на пляже, бдительная спасательная служба, куча кафешек на любой вкус. Пляж с волнорезами и изумительным мелким песком. И ВСЁ ЭТО БЕСПЛАТНО!|||| После злосчастной квартиры номера в «Регине» показались верхом совершенства. Приятный холл, приветливые работники, удобные диваны и кресла. Номера очень достойные. Хорошо оборудованная ванная комната с необходимыми принадлежностями. В номере широкая двуспальная кровать, чайник, холодильник, телефон. С балконов – прекрасный вид на Средиземное море. Завтраки очень даже неплохие, с учётом местного колорита; через дорогу ресторанчики и кафе на любой вкус и кошелёк. На пляже подружились с парой россиян из отеля «Леонардо» и даже ходили друг другу на чашку чая. Рядом с их отелем пляж заметно хуже, поэтому они ходили на наш. Сам Леонардо пороскошнее Регины, но цены… Например, за длительное (почти трёхнедельное) проживание двухместный номер обошёлся ……. Подобное проживание в «Леонардо» почти в два раза дороже. Уверены, что для достойного и не слишком материально обременительного отдыха «Регина» подходит лучше.|||| Что касается культурной программы, то прямо из «Регины» вы сможете совершить любую экскурсию по Израилю, а также в Иорданию и Египет, круиз на Кипр. При этом вам не нужно ехать на место сбора тургруппы (хотя рядом с отелем автобусная остановка с основными городскими маршрутами и стоянка такси) – вас заберут и доставят по месту проживания. Были в Хайфе – Акко - Кайсарии, Галилее и озере Кинерет, Вифлееме, конечно же, в Иерусалиме, в Яффо – Тель-Авиве, на Мёртвом море. В общем, отпуск удался! ||||Хорошо, что таксист отвёз нас...
