My recent stay at Hotel Porto Conte left me feeling rather disappointed, despite its beautiful location and fancy ambiance. While the hotel boasted a stunning setting and an air of luxury, several key aspects fell short of my expectations. First and foremost, the hotel's location was undeniably beautiful. Nestled in a picturesque spot, it offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The allure of a private beach and a private pool added to the initial appeal of the property, promising a serene and exclusive experience. The overall service at Hotel Porto Conte was kind and caring, with staff members displaying a friendly attitude. However, the rooms were rather lackluster and had an old feel to them. Although they were decent, they lacked any distinctive features that would have elevated them to the level expected from the look of the hotel. The bar at Hotel Porto Conte also left something to be desired. While the cocktails were indeed good, the service was slow and inefficient. Waiting excessively for a drink detracted from the intended enjoyment of the upscale atmosphere. One of the most disappointing aspects of my stay was the dining experience. The food served in the hotel's restaurant was shockingly bland, lacking in flavour and creativity. It was disheartening to find that even the most basic dishes could not deliver an enjoyable culinary experience. The lack of fresh ingredients and the absence of vegetables in the dishes were particularly disappointing. Additionally, the cleanliness of the plates was questionable at times, as if they had been wiped with a dirty towel. The only redeeming feature was the fruit served as dessert, providing a brief respite from the otherwise sad meals. Furthermore, the service in the restaurant was below par. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, failing to provide the level of service one would expect from a fancy establishment. This lack of attention to detail further compounded our sense of disappointment. Overall, our stay at Hotel Porto Conte was far from the better experience I had anticipated. While the location and the initial impression of grandeur were enticing, the hotel fell short in key areas. From the underwhelming rooms to the terrible food, the overall feel was one of disappointment. I left with the realization that for a more satisfying experience, I could have easily prepared a better meal myself for less...
Read moreMy Review from July 16, 2025 (Stay from July 8, 2025 to July 14, 2025):
This hotel is pure comfort for me. During my stay, I find almost nothing to complain about. To give a better overview, I create a table with all the positive and negative points. So read until the end.
Positive:
The rooms are well-maintained and cleaned properly every day. The hotel is in a very modern condition and offers plenty of leisure activities such as mini golf, ping pong, tennis, volleyball, and table football. There are also paid but great activities like a diving course or a multi-hour boat tour to explore the area. A morning program for young tourists and an evening program for young and old are included in the price. The food is a real treat – simply delicious 😋. I especially like the hotel grounds. There are shaded parking spots for cars and a small forest that provides pleasant shade during hot days. The beach looks perfect – no trash or big stones. The loungers are well-kept, with the ones further back being free of charge. The water is beautifully clear and turquoise. The beach is perfect for small children because it stays shallow, and for swimmers, the bay is ideal. The service is respectful and friendly. The internet connection is stable, and the water pressure in the room is perfect.
Negative:
Unfortunately, I also notice a few small negative things, which is why I give four stars. Although the food tastes very good, I always struggle as a vegetarian. Almost everything contains meat or fish, so I end up eating noodles as a starter almost every day. For the main course, I usually only find a few potatoes. The food is tasty, but the menu is simply not enough for vegetarians or vegans. At the beach, there are free loungers in the back rows, but the front ones cost money. Since no one really wants to pay for them, it is often hard to get a lounger at all.
Conclusion and Summary:
Overall, I can recommend this hotel. The variety of activities, the good food, the beautiful beach, and the various programs make for a comfortable and relaxed vacation. Unfortunately, the food selection is not suitable for everyone, and free loungers are limited. In general, though, I think this hotel offers good...
Read moreMe and my wife stayed for 3 days as part of our honeymoon, it is a 4-star hotel so we had expectations which were completely shattered as we entered the room. The room is 20 square meters with one very small window to the terrace. It is so deprived of sunlight that you have to turn on the lights even on a very sunny day in order to see inside which totally ruins the vibe. We payed extra for a seaview room but couldn’t enjoy it due to the fact that the only window in the room as well as being small, was also lacking a mosquito net which totally prevents you from sleeping on an open door and listening to the sea, unless you want to wake up to the sound of mosquitoes every 20 minutes and hunting them down. The reception reacted by giving us a spray and an anti-mosquito plug in. Also you don’t have the AC remote in the room which came as a surprise to us the first night. You have to ask for it at the reception. The bathroom bin doesn’t have a lid so you end up seeing and smelling everything you throw inside. The “double bed” is comprised of two single beds put together so you end up having to avoid the middle. The TV is small. Oh and there is no fan in the bathroom as well. The toilet seat was crooked and fixed at a crooked angle to the toilet itself. We arrived late when we came the first day so our only option was to dine at the hotel restaurant which charged us 30 euro per person for a full menu which included in my case: raw salmon and cherry tomatoes with mozzarella and the most mediocre cake for dessert. The included breakfast was poor and lacking of taste that includes the coffee. Another thing, every time someone passes in the corridor you can hear everything. Every. Single. Word. Creak. Step. The whole package, if people are passing frequently in front of your room, good luck with resting. There are many other minor things which add up to one pretty disappointing and bad experience. This hotel is far from a 4-star or even a 3-star hotel and the enormous lack of balance between price/quality ratio is out of this world! The included beach is useless because it is the most mediocre out of all sardinia so you end up not...
