Hotel & Restaurant Camoretti is located in the end of a narrow serpentine road on the mountain slope. It has a marvelous view down to the valley and the village.||||There are basically two buildings, the hotel and the restaurant with a terrace combining the two. The buildings seem new, but traditional in style. The room where I stayed was excellent with a small balcony in front of it, again with a perfect view. You can easily sense that everything is taken care of with great care and affection.||||The restaurant and bar are located in a separate building. The outside terrace must be a great place with some shade in the summer time. The restaurant opened at 19.30 pm in the usual Italian style. It exceeded all my expectations. It was simply excellent in all respects including the wine list and service. Their Fiorentina was one of the best I have ever had.||||The breakfast room was located in the hotel building next to the reception.||||I would prefer Camoretti over any city center four star hotel. No doubt about that, as I loved its great location, view, cosy atmosphere and excellent restaurant. If one desires crowd, music bars or night clubs, the choice might be different. For me this is a great example of places that I would like to find. Warmly...
Read moreThis hotel is "out in the sticks" so not right for everyone. For a small group on a short golfing holiday it was perfect. We were picked up from Bergamo airport, and on each day after ferried to and from Bergamo Golf Club (a great course) upon demand. The rooms were comfortable with balcony and panoramic views to both the lower plain and the mountains. The staff (family) were helpful and friendly (once you got used to their 'un-Italian' under-stated manner). I am sure many people leave the hotel feeling they have made new friends in the people there.||The food was the highlight - a series of courses none too big but all packed with taste and presentation, and flexible to each person's wants. The wine was good, and if you ventured to the list from the cellar a delightful trip into the unknown (at least to a novice like me), though at a premium but not too high a premium.||My only criticism/suggestion is that the wardrobe and drawer space for clothes for a week was not sufficient; but I will have forgotten this long before I forget the food, wine, and...
Read moreHaving travelled through Bergamo airport many times and stayed at airport hotels nearby, it was so nice to find this wonderful hotel. My wife and I arrived a little early to check in, but that was not a problem for the friendly owner. Lovely large bedroom and bathroom with a balcony with the afternoon sun shing on it. Views for miles over the countryside and the busy city in the distance. Lovely and quiet surroundings with perfect country walks right on the door step. Easy free parking right outside. Decor in the room and bathroom was excellent and contemporary, almost luxurious. Breakfast was adequate rather than exciting but the room was really nice. Just next door to the hotel is the restaurant which we are sure is owned by the hotel. Fabulous food with a really good wine list with fair prices. To eat in the UK with the same quality would be much more expensive and without the...
