Hotel Rendez-Vous — Hotel in Aymavilles

The hotel is decent, average compared to facilities in the area. Renovated but still oldish style, living and sleeping areas are not apart one from the other.||Rooms are clean and wooden but poorly soundproofed. Dinner is served in a slapy room, empty and sad. Dinner itself is no good, probably precooked: no buffet, no salads, no menù. You just get what you get. Not worth the 25,00 euros each requested. In Aymavilles you can find a Vinosteria where you can eat better and cheaper. ||The staff is nice but unprofessional in both dress and service: the old lady goes around with seet-through clothes and one of the waitress can’t get you what you orderded. The breakfast buffet was good although I would expect to know what is offered: there is no indication of either the food or the ingredients. Parking is small but there is free parking nearby. It has a spa but I did not use it. The hotel has a good view on the valley and is a good compromise to reach both Cogne and Courmayeur. Aosta is very close to Aymavilles. We booked late as a party of 4 families and I’m so glad we found this gem of a hotel. Family run, the service is first class, nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very attentive. Remy was a great host. A good choice for breakfast and the 3 course evening meal was home cooked, extremely tasty and plenty of it. Wine from the winery across the road was a nice touch. Rooms were lovely and beds very comfortable. Compact, basic ski room but fit for purpose. The spa was well worth the 10 euro charge. Location was great - 15 mins to Pila gondola and 35 to La Thuile. Im Rahmen einer Biketour wurde dieses Hotel ausgewählt. Für die Region ist es sicherlich ein gutes Hotel und wird wohl in der 4. Generation geführt. Allerdings ist es eben nicht immer gut wie es „früher und immer“ gemacht wurde.||Tagesdecken halten den Staub von mindestens einem Jahrzehnt fest und Technik und Sanitäranlagen sind auch nicht auf dem neuesten Stand bzw. weit weg davon. Deswegen auch „charmant“.||Aber sauber ist alles und alle Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und darum bemüht alles möglich zu machen. Der Küchenchef hat jeden Abend extra gekocht damit unser Sohn früher essen konnte und wir später zum eigentlichen Abendessen kamen wenn er bereit schlief. Dafür nochmals vielen Dank!||||Einen Punkt weniger gibt es dafür, dass man sich an der Bar so gut wie immer selbst bedienen musste. Hier wartete man auch mal ein paar Minuten bis überhaupt jemand kam. Dafür wurde dann auch mal gerne durchs ganze Haus gerufen :)||||Auch die Abgabe der Schlüssel in einen Korb (einer für alle) wo die Schlüssel dann den ganzen Tag mit Nummer markiert offen herumlagen war wenig beruhigend. Auch wenn anscheinend „noch nie etwas passiert“ ist.||||Das Frühstück war auch etwas schwierig. Da wir eine Woche dort waren hatten wir dann irgendwann raus wie und was wir fragen und bestellen mussten.||Aber allgemein ist es wenig liebevoll gestaltet und es werden einfach die Verpackungen mit offenem Deckel hingestellt. Roher Quinoa und rohe Chiasamen sind recht schwer zu nutzen. Hier half etwas Aufklärung :)||||Beim Frühstück und bei den Betten ist meiner Meinung nach der dringendste Handlungsbedarf um hier die volle Punktzahl zu bekommen.||||Baulich ist es sehr schade dass der Speisesaal wirklich ein Saal ist der leider kein bisschen gemütlich ist und ein Abendessen nur innen erlaubt.
