Since some time we’ve discovered the small paradise of Relais del Maro at charming Borgomaro. |We’ve visited now a few times already as it seems to us one of the most friendly places we know of. Elena and staff have been so enormously well taken care of us every time we come « home », all small details are well thought about. Elena provides information for hikes, touring the area, restaurants, local crafts companies as well as, wine producers, olive oil, cheeses and lots more! You find in her small homemade booklets enough information so you want to stay for a year to discover all of the local beautiful things, or you come back frequently! |Animals are welcome as in no other place in the world, they get their own bed , little bowl and some nice cookies upon arrival! |Afternoon tea is great as well as the aperitif and for lunch you better stay at the beautiful setting of the Relais! |Breakfast is a buffet you’ve never seen before with everything you need and lots very creative items you’ve never had before at any place! We’ve stayed three nights at the relais del Maro and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house is well maintained, everything looks brand new, although it has been redone a couple of years ago. The staff is as serviceminded as you can ever encounter; friendly, helpful and genuine. ||The rooms (we had to change rooms after 2 nights) are lovely and spacious. Changing was no bother, on the contrary, it was fun to compare rooms and discover both were just fine. ||Lunch and breakfast were perfect and once again served with a smile. ||No dining in the evening, but a small booklet, homemade by the hotel, gave plenty of useful tips. ||A small farewell gift we recieved upon leaving emphasised the care the staff stowed upon us. ||One of the best boutique hotels we have ever visited and trust me, we have been around. ||Ten out of ten is the only rating we...
