Relais le Due Matote is such a hidden gem, and I feel so lucky to have discovered it. From the moment we arrived, we were absolutely taken by the beauty of this place. The location is out of this world—stunning views all around, with snow-covered Alps stretching into the distance, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to Mont Blanc. The fact that we were there out of season made it even more special. For two whole nights, we had the entire property to ourselves, which felt incredibly peaceful and intimate, but the staff was always around, making sure we were taken care of like royalty.||||The hotel itself is an absolute masterpiece. It’s impeccably well-maintained, spotless, and yet filled with so much character. There’s this beautiful mix of eclectic details and gorgeous antiques that never feels crowded or overwhelming—everything is perfectly curated. The entire vibe is cozy yet luxurious, and it made us feel completely at ease.||||One of the most memorable experiences was the special dinner the kitchen team prepared for us at the chef’s table. Watching Chef Salvatore and his talented sous chefs create absolute magic right in front of us was something I’ll never forget. Let me tell you—this team is aiming for a Michelin star, and I believe they deserve several! The food was exceptional, and each dish felt like an artwork. We especially loved Chef Salvatore’s take on pizza fritta with Vitello tonnato—it was a playful twist on classic Italian flavors, and the balance of textures and tastes was just perfect. Salvatore, the maitre d’, made us feel so incredibly welcome, checking in on us throughout the evening and ensuring we had everything we needed. The personal touches were really appreciated, and it made the whole experience feel so intimate.||||The last night, the team set up a beautiful aperitif for us on the sunny terrace, and it truly felt like a magical moment—sipping cocktails as the sun set over the hills, with that gorgeous view in front of us. It’s those little moments that make you feel like you’ve found something really special.||||Another unforgettable experience was when Chef Salvatore took us on a Fiat drive through the rolling hills of Langhe—honestly, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was such a unique way to explore the area, and it really made us fall even more in love with this region.||||The rooms at Relais le Due Matote are newly renovated and ultra-luxurious. Every little detail was thought of, from the beautifully soft linens to the cozy, elegant décor. I was also thrilled to find out that the tea served at the hotel is from Fortnum & Mason—someone here knows good tea!||||The reception staff, especially Elia, were also wonderful—so sweet and welcoming. We brought our small poodle with us, and I have to say, she was treated like royalty too! It’s always a bonus when a hotel makes your furry friend feel just as special.||||And the private spa in the wine cellar—wow. It’s so beautifully done, and such a unique touch. We spent some time relaxing there, surrounded by the calming atmosphere of the wine cellar, and it was such a peaceful experience.||||Overall, Relais le Due Matote is a must-visit hotel that’s truly a destination in itself. The little village it’s located in is also incredibly charming, with roses blooming everywhere in June. We already can’t wait to return. It’s one of those places that stays with you long...

Relais le Due Matote is one of those places that completely stole my heart. From the moment we arrived, I was taken aback by the sheer beauty of this place. The location is absolutely breathtaking, with views all around that stretch over snow-covered Alps—and on a clear day, you can even see Mont Blanc in the distance. We were lucky enough to visit out of season, which made the whole experience even more magical. For two whole nights, we had the entire property to ourselves, and it felt like we had stumbled upon this hidden treasure. Despite having the place all to ourselves, the staff made us feel like we were being pampered in the best possible way.

The hotel itself is stunning—everything is beautifully maintained, clean, and full of character. It’s full of lovely eclectic details and gorgeous antiques, but nothing ever feels overcrowded or cluttered. There’s such a balance to it all, and I immediately felt at home in the cozy, luxurious atmosphere.

One of the highlights of our stay was the special dinner the kitchen team arranged for us at the chef’s table. Watching Chef Salvatore and his team work their magic was such a treat. The food was out of this world—each dish was like a piece of art. I’ll never forget Chef Salvatore’s take on pizza fritta with Vitello tonnato—it was such a creative twist on a classic Italian dish, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and you could tell the team was aiming for the stars. Honestly, I think they deserve several Michelin stars! Salvatore, the maitre d’, made us feel so welcome and checked in on us throughout the evening to make sure we were taken care of. It’s those little personal touches that really made the experience feel so special.

The final evening, the team set up a gorgeous aperitif for us on the sunny terrace, and it was such a magical moment. Sitting there with a drink in hand, watching the sun set over the hills, I honestly didn’t want it to end.

Another unforgettable experience was when Chef Salvatore took us out for a Fiat drive through the rolling hills of Langhe. It was such a fun, once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we got to see the area in such a unique way. It really made me fall in love with the region even more.

The rooms at Relais le Due Matote are pure luxury—newly renovated and super comfortable. The little details, like the soft linens and elegant décor, made it feel like such a treat. And I was especially excited to find that the tea served at the hotel is from Fortnum & Mason—someone knows their tea!

The reception staff, especially Elia, were so sweet and welcoming, and they made sure everything was perfect. We traveled with our small poodle, and I can’t express how well she was treated—she was totally spoiled, which made us feel even more at home.

And let’s not forget the private spa in the wine cellar—it’s such a unique touch! The whole space is so peaceful and beautifully designed, and we spent some time there unwinding, surrounded by the calming atmosphere of the cellar.

Overall, Relais le Due Matote is a place I will never forget. It’s a must-visit destination in itself, and the little village it’s in is just as charming, especially when the roses are blooming in June. We can’t wait to return, and I’m already dreaming about our...
