We stayed here while attending the wedding of a friend held nearby, and got to appreciate the place more and more with each day we spent there. At first, everything seemed quite standard - rooms, pool and breakfast were exactly as you’d expect for a 3* standard. Fridges in the room, simple breakfast, pool - the hot tub wasn’t actually by the main pool sadly, we never found it. Efficient housekeeping and friendly service overall. We did not know that the hotel was attached to a polo club and knew nothing of polo as a sport at all, and this is what truly took us by surprise. Every morning, we had breakfast while watching students practice, and watching stable staff bring dozens of horses around on walks. The restaurant offers the real dishes not only from the Tuscan inside meat loving palates but a real superb selection of Mediterranean seafood preparations. In season like in July, Chef Antonio prepares one of the best Tartare di Fassona with black truffle I ever experienced. They have also now introduced Tomahawk steaks that are a delight.
