We stayed here while attending the wedding of a friend held nearby, and got to appreciate the place more and more with each day we spent there. At first, everything seemed quite standard - rooms, pool and breakfast were exactly as you’d expect for a 3* standard. Fridges in the room, simple breakfast, pool - the hot tub wasn’t actually by the main pool sadly, we never found it. Efficient housekeeping and friendly service overall. We did not know that the hotel was attached to a polo club and knew nothing of polo as a sport at all, and this is what truly took us by surprise. Every morning, we had breakfast while watching students practice, and watching stable staff bring dozens of horses around on walks. If you like a quiet getaway in the middle of vineyards and nature and you love horses, and good food, this is the place to be! ||We have been impressed from the hospitality of this small hotel, with only 9 rooms and it's ambience. ||Amazing setting, quiet and with a top in-house restaurant: Antonio the Chef and his wife provide excellent Italian dishes, very well selected wines in a beautiful restaurant. ||For horse lovers, horse riding is available, the horses and stables are kept at immaculate condition from the specialised Argentinian stuff. We have been going to Relais la Martina hotel and restaurant in a while. The restaurant offers the real dishes not only from the Tuscan inside meat loving palates but a real superb selection of Mediterranean seafood preparations. In season like in July, Chef Antonio prepares one of the best Tartare di Fassona with black truffle I ever experienced. They have also now introduced Tomahawk steaks that are a delight. Do not leave without trying the frittura di scampi and calamari now the pasta with truffle. Ohhh and the deserts are amazing, especially in Cremino.
