Disappointing Experience – Style Over Substance
The restaurant makes a good first impression: it looks charming, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. These were the highlights of our evening.
Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations—especially given the strong reviews and the pricing, which is high by Tuscan standards.
We started with a few appetizers, including the steak tartare. While none of them were bad, they were quite standard and uninspired. You can find this level of quality in just about any local osteria at half the price.
The pasta dishes continued the theme of mediocrity—nothing memorable, nothing offensive, but certainly not what you’d hope for in a region known for its exceptional cuisine.
Things took a downturn with the main courses. The lamb chops were a particular low point: three small pieces, grilled to a dry, grey state, far too salty, and devoid of real flavor. The bistecca was made from poor-quality beef and nowhere near the standard you’d expect from a Tuscan kitchen. The beef stew was similarly underwhelming—edible, but forgettable.
Overall, it was a disappointing dinner that didn’t reflect the culinary richness Tuscany is known for. If you’re a foodie or truly value authentic Tuscan flavor and quality, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This place charges above-average prices for well-below-average food.

Our visit to Ristorante la Martina in Tuscany was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made us feel right at home. The service was impeccable, they smiled at all times, asked but always so subtle without intruding. I’ve been to Tuscany enough times to know when something deserves a positive review.
The food was simply outstanding. Each dish showcased the best of local ingredients, from perfectly cooked pasta to a succulent Tuscan steak. The flavors were rich, authentic, and beautifully presented. They recommended the dish of the day, the bruschetta, made with their fresh tomatoes from the garden, it was DELICIOUS!!!!!
