The owners are totally amazing people, available to give you recommendations about places to visit or how to organize the trip. We stayed there for only one night but we managed to visit the most important places around. In the evening we went to their bar (following recommendations from previous reviews) and had a huge dinner (not sure that what we ate was in the menu or not, we just let ourselves in their hands and we didn't regret at all). The room was small and cozy, but offered everything we needed and it was very clean. And yes, it can seem a bit strange to have the shower in the room but I had seen it in other places before and in the end I don't see it as a problem if you are a couple. The only thing that I can mention as less positive is not related to the accommodation but to the long waiting times during the dinner in the bar. Maybe they were busier than usual during that evening, but we were there for more than 2 hrs and we gave up in the end to the dessert as we were too tired to...
Read moreMy girlfriend and i went to Castel del Monte after seeing "The American" and were blown away by the serene beauty of the quaint little mountain village with a population of 400 people, who use locally harvested produce of the highest quality. Our accommodation experience at Le Civette with Francesco the host, was exceptional and our every need tended to with the highest hospitality. We dined at the restaurant adjoining Le Civette with chef Barabara and her husband Santiago, who created an outstanding personalised service for us that was the best we've experienced. The food was mouth watering. It was such an experience to discuss the origin of each product and ingredient used, from local bees wax salami, to locally produced wines and olive oil. ||If you can make it to Castel Del Monte, and i cannot recommend doing so highly enough, then you must stay at Le Civette to complete the experience. 10/10||With many thanks||||Graziano...
Read moreOur twin room was on the top floor, and had the strange feature that the glass shower cabin was in the bedroom, instead of in the bathroom. The towels were thin, and were completely soaked considering I have long hair. Breakfast had fruits and yogurt, but no fresh bread. However, the main problem is the attitude of the owners, for whom providing any extra, like storing luggage, was clearly against their will. Comparing to other guesthouses and B&B's we stayed in, it doesn't even reach the level of service we had in much cheaper places, and certainly doesn't reach international standards. I guess this is an ideal place if one arrives after 16:30 (check-in time) and leaves before 10:30 the next morning, when check-out time is. There is wifi, but it...
