The Valdor Holiday Center is perfect for those wishing to explore the region and Venice and its islands. We stayed in the hotel and had a basic double room. It was very small but served our purpose. The air-conditioning was amazing and the shower powerful. We had a balcony with chairs and a table that overlooked the small pond.||||The beach is beautiful and has a bar/restaurant. You can pay for sunloungers and umbrellas at the hotel reception - costs €10 per day. We also hired bikes for a couple of days and explored a few places in the region: Punta Sabbione, Treporti and much of Cavallino. ||||This area of Italy is stunning and the food and drink are some of the best you'll find for value and taste. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening but ate most days at the beach bar which had a varied menu for all tastes. ||||The holiday center was very popular with campers; we were wowed by the extensive pitches and resourcefulness of the campers and caravaners. The wooded area used for the campsite had a relaxed ambience and the smells from the big communal grills at dinner time were testament to the excellent produce available in the region. ||||The pool in the center is quite small and more of a fun pool with a slide but it is not really needed with such a fabulous beach on your door-step. The beach bar is open late into the night with themed evenings and a real club beach vibe.||||The Valdor is a perfect place to explore this fantastic region and visit neigbouring Venice and the islands without having to pay over-priced tourist prices. Ca'Savio is a great little place and a chance to experience a real Italian beach resort. The hotel rooms are basic but offer everything you need for a short break away from it all. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. ||||There are a few things to note:||1. Depending when you visit, the mosquitos (or zanzara) can be very persistent and particularly nasty. Wear repellent if you are prone to bites. They can leave you with quite nasty bites with swelling, itchiness and soreness. We went in August - probably the worst time! ||2. Get to grips with the ferry time-tables (they look like a London underground map) It looks confusing and off-putting but when you have worked it out it is easy, cheap and the most effective way to explore. ||3. Use public transport - both trains and buses are very cheap and efficient. (We paid €6 each for a bus from Treviso airport to Ca'Savio and €45 each to travel first class - with a glass of prosecco- on the train from Venice...
Read moreWe spent 3 nights at the Valdor when visited Venice, Burano and Murano.||The room was somewhat small. It is directly on the Beach and the garden is very beautiful, with swans and a fish lake. The breakfast was also fantastic. (8 Euros per person). The offered a nice buffet style European Breakfast. Secure parking was also provided.||The personal at the reception was very friendly and helpful. It was easy to make excursions to Venice and other islands. ||The hotel had a pool. It was mediocre. The worst was, however, that the pool was closed from 12 - 3.30. I have never heard of a beach hotel where the pool is closed for hours. So if you want to enjoy the sun do not book this hotel. If you plan excursions, I guess it is a good base to do so.||I have to complain more about the pool though. They had literally 8 beach chairs at the pool. Obviously there was hardly ever a chair available when you got there. So again this was unbelievable. Also the pool was fenced and there was hardly space to hang out there. So if you want a decent pool this is not the hotel for you. I also thought it was expensive to rent a beach chair at the actual beach. (10 Euros per person per day). ||There was also entertainment at night. I can not judge it since I did not attend but everyone seemed to like it.||The restaurant also offered dinner, which I did not try but I suspect it was good given that it was full...
Read moreMy family and I were traveling to Venice and had a room booked at the Hotel Valdor. The lobby was an open air area with seating that was comfortable and had a nice view of the court yard. This resort also has a restaurant attached that offers a breakfast and semi formal dinner. You have to have reservations for dinner and you order ahead of time the breakfast is simple eggs, bread assortment, Fruits and cereal. ||The rooms are clean but are small. Our kids had a room the size of a college dorm and ours was larger with a queen bed, Our bathroom had a large walk in shower and dressing area. Our kids bathroom was small, so small that the toilet was part of the shower.|| The grounds that the hotel sit on has a camp ground directly behind it and you do have to walk through it to get to the pool and the beach. The pool area is small so we chose to go to the beach. To get to the beach you have to walk a ways but it is worth the walk. There is a place at the beach to get a drink and sandwiches.|| It is close to the docks for to catch the ferry to...
