Discrimination and shocking treatment by front desk staff
I’m still in shock and deeply disappointed by how I was treated during my stay at this property. What happened to me goes far beyond a bad service experience – I was discriminated against by the blonde woman with short hair working at reception, and it left me in tears.
According to the hotel’s policy, check-in is guaranteed from 14:00. I arrived at 12:30, after a long and exhausting journey. I was greeted coldly, without a smile or any sense of welcome. I handed over my ID and was told to wait until 14:00.
I respected that and went to their restaurant, where I spent money on food and drinks – so I was already supporting the business. At 13:30, I politely returned to the desk and asked again if my room might be ready. I was told again to wait until 14:00, so I sat quietly near the reception.
Then, at 13:55, an Italian family arrived and immediately started checking in. At 14:02, I approached the desk and asked why they were being served first, despite the fact that I had already been waiting for an hour and a half, and had submitted my ID much earlier.
Instead of explaining or showing any understanding, the receptionist raised her voice, claimed they were “first,” and tried to turn the situation against me. It was absurd – I had been sitting there for over 30 minutes before they even arrived. When I pointed this out calmly, she continued escalating the tension rather than trying to resolve it.
At that point, I felt completely humiliated and started crying. A much kinder colleague of hers finally helped me check in, but the damage had already been done.
What was most disturbing is that this receptionist told me I was “disturbing other guests” and should “relax – I’m on vacation.” This was classic gaslighting – she mistreated me and then tried to make me feel like I was the problem. Her tone became almost threatening, as if I might be kicked out.
To make matters worse, the next day I saw another woman being checked in at 12:20, without any issue – which proves this was not about hotel policy, but selective treatment.
I hold Genius Level 3 on Booking and have stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world – I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect. It honestly felt like guests from Italy were prioritized, while as a guest from Poland, I was treated as a second-class person.
Moreover: after all this, I noticed a note in my Booking profile saying “An incident occurred during your stay.” I strongly suspect the hotel staff filed a complaint against me to cover up their own unprofessional behavior.
One unprofessional person can ruin the efforts of an entire team. Because I also want to be fair: the young woman at reception was absolutely lovely – kind, helpful and professional every time I interacted with her.
The hotel itself was modern and clean, and I appreciate that. However, one more downside: in the morning it was very noisy due to poor soundproofing of the room doors and cleaning staff speaking loudly in the hallways, which made it hard...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Nuovo Cason in Cavallino and was very pleased overall. The first thing that struck me was the cleanliness of the hotel - not only was it clean, but it was modern and well maintained. The rooms were spacious enough to feel comfortable, although the beds could be a little more comfortable.
The location of the hotel is ideal for beach lovers. It only takes a 5 minute walk to reach the beach. There are also some excellent restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive, making the food choices varied.
Another highlight is the excellent value for money, which I find to be outstanding. Parking is plentiful and right by the hotel, making it easy to get to and from the hotel. In addition, the rooms are pleasantly quiet, which makes for a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
Overall, Hotel Nuovo Cason offers a great stay and I would recommend it to anyone looking for comfortable, well located and reasonably priced...
