Tourist Village the Cecinella — Hotel in Cecina

We stayed at Cecinella for one week this August and unfortunately had a negative experience. To start, the room upon check-in was dirty, to a point where we wondered whether it had been cleaned at all. The bathroom was very dirty. We called reception and we were told Housekeeping would come by, but this never happened. We ended up buying a swiffer ourselves and a few other cleaning products in order to clean out the space as much as possible (our baby likes to crawl around so we found it really important). What a way to start the holiday! ||Then, the swimming pool area. Guests are obliged to wear 'cuffie' on the head, as if guests are olympic swimmers...it's something to do with hygiene - what a double standard seeing all the dirt in the room and the smelly bathroom!! At the swimming pool loud, very loud music is being played, all day long. This could be nice however the music played makes one feel as if being in a night club, and totally out of tune with what young families would like/relate to. The fact that there is an amateur animation team at the pool area all day long might explain the choice of music..as they seemed to be enjoying the music the most. ||The restaurant serves decent food however service is sloppy and very, very slow (we tried twice so it was not just bad luck). ||The hotel has a nice location, close to a beautiful pineta forest, which makes up for the place, however for the money spent we will definitely not be coming back to Cecinella. And we would definitely not recommend young families to go to Cecinella - for the same budget a better and more pleasant alternative can...

Wir waren das erste Mal in der Toskana. Weil wir etwas Campingplatzerfahrung haben, buchten wir im Villagio La Cecinella, 1 Bungalow für 5 Personen inkl. Halbpension über TUI. Nun, was soll ich berichten? Beginnen wir mit dem Besten. Die Lage ist wirklich erstklassig. Am südlichen Rand von Cecina Mare gelegen ist der 10 minütige Gang zum Strand eher ein Vergnügen als ein Müssen. Wohlgemerkt wir gingen nicht für reine Badeferien in die Toskana sondern auch um Tagesausflüge zu unternehmen. Auch aus dieser Sicht ist die Lage exzellent. Parkplätze sind genügend kostenfrei vorhanden. Anschluss Schnellstraße ca. 5-7 Fahrminuten. An der Reception ist man den Ankömmlingen gegenüber eher distanziert und förmlich aber korrekt und hilfsbereit. Mittels Badge ist der Zutritt 24 h gewährleistet. Die gesamte Anlage präsentiert sich übersichtlich, sauber und gepflegt. Die Bungalows sind solid gebaut, mit Klimaanlage, Sat- TV und Wandsafe ausgestattet. Auch eine Mini-Küche mit dem Allernötigsten ist vorhanden. Das wichtigste ist eh der Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach. Die Möblierung ist zweckmässig. Die Nasszelle mit Duschkabine, WC, Lavabo, Spiegel, Haarföhn und Bidet. Frottee- und Bettwäsche gibt's einmal frisch pro Woche. Anziehen muss man das Zeug selbst. Zimmerreinigung Fehlanzeige. Die massive Bauweise sorgt wenigstens für erträgliche Raumtemperatur und ausreichend Schallschutz. ACHTUNG: Gilt nicht für die erste Reihe dem Pool entlang!!! Raumaufteilung okay, Sauberkeit soso lala. Wir haben jedenfalls alles zuerst geputzt. Poolanlage inkl. Liegestühle und Sonnenschirme okay. Dergleichen muss man für den Strand selber mitnehmen. Es sei denn man geht am Strand ein paar Minuten weiter in ein öffentliches Bagni (kostet 20-30 Euro täglich für Schirm und Liege). Das hauseigene Restaurant ist zwar wohl okay aber als Pensionsgast wird man täglich zum Primi, vor eine Auswahl von zweierlei Pasta, immer mit Tomatensauce notabene, gestellt. Der Secondi ist zwar etwas abwechslungsreicher aber offensichtlich eher als Kinderportion gedacht. Das Dessert bestand an 12 von 14 Tagen aus Panna Cotta. Bestellt man stattdessen Obst kommt 1 Apfel und 1 Nektarine auf den Tisch begleitet von einem Spielzeugmesser. Immerhin wird frisch gekocht. Weinkarte liesse sich grundsätzlich sehen. Die Roten sind aber allesamt viel zu warm. Bedienung chaotisch. Jeder macht alles und nichts. Für Nachservice muss man beinahe laut werden. Man kann sich dem Eindruck nicht entziehen, dass auf Kosten der Pensionsgäste gespart wird und zwar rigoros. Nachfrage ob es geschmeckt hat, Fehlanzeige. Der Gipfel ist dann noch, dass sich die Inhaberfamilie jeweils zur Hauptessenszeit an zentraler Lage im Restaurant dick auftragen läßt und dann noch Gerichte die gar nicht auf der Karte sind. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist typisch italienisch. D.h. Nutella, Kuchen und Kaffee. Es hat zwar noch etwas Toastbrot etwas Salami, Scheibenkäse und Fruchtsirup aber halt eben süss, süss, süss. Also leider sehr, sehr eintönig und sehr, sehr ungesund. Die liederliche und wirklich viel zu laute Animation, die praktisch von früh bis spät läuft, ist an Lächerlichkeit und Dilettantismus kaum zu unterbieten. Da helfen auch der betriebseigene Waschsalon und das Spa-Center nicht darüber hinweg. Wi-Fi gibt es nur in Poolnähe, der Fitnessraum misst ca. 3x3m, zudem hat es Tennisplätze und eine Bocciabahn, die aber seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr benutzt wurden. Man versucht offenbar irgendwie alles zu bieten, ohne zu wissen was die Gäste wirklich wollen. Man verkauft Hotelservice ist aber mental und organisatorisch im Mittelklassecampingservice stehen gebliebenen. Alles in Allem will man zwar, weiss aber nicht so recht wie, oder umgekehrt. Fazit: für 1-3 Nächte ausreichend. Oder aber falls längerer Aufenthalt geplant, dann besser ohne Verpflegung. In 3-5 Fahrminuten ist man nämlich, der guten Lage sei Dank, in Cecina...

Overall, the place is okay. It's close to the sea—just a 5-minute drive—but you have to pay for parking. Alternatively, you can take a bus from the village where we stayed. The bus runs on a fixed schedule every day, and it's free, making it easy to hop on and get dropped off by the sea. The rooms are generally okay but not as they appeared on the website. There isn't a private garden for each bungalow; instead, there's just a shared grassy area in front of each one, with no fence or privacy, contrary to how it was advertised online. One downside is that basic toiletries, such as shower gel and hand wash, were not provided, which was inconvenient. Wi-Fi is nonexistent at the accommodation. To access the internet, you have to go to the restaurant in the village. The cleanliness of the rooms is fair, but the apartments are old. On a positive note, the staff is very friendly and always willing to help, especially the young lady at the reception. She never says no and always welcomes people with a...
