Ideally located for the underground train to the Motta ski area (a couple of minutes walk via path behind the hotel), this 3 star hotel offers all you need on a ski trip: warm rooms, good shower, free wi-fi and good food (and plenty of it!!).The dining room has been recently renovated and it looks really good. ||What really makes this hotel stand out is the great service you get from both owners and staff. Back in 2011 we selected this hotel based on its location. It was before Christmas and the first couple of days Motta was closed due to lack of snow. Paolo offered a shuttle service to/from Madesimo whenever it suited us!! "you give me a call when you're ready and we'll come to pick you up"||We have been going back every year since, because of the warm welcome we get every time....

We stayed at Hotel Europa for 5 nights in Feb 2018, staying in a family room. The hotel benefits from an excellent location, about 5 mins walk from the funicular railway that runs up to the ski slopes of Motta / Madesimo. The room was warm, comfy, quiet and included great showers and black out blinds - all essentials for me. The food was superb - the pizzoccheri (a local classic in the part of Italy) was amazing. Wij kregen op de Spluga pas een lekke band en moesten hierdoor terug worden gebracht naar Campodolcino voor reparatie. De garagist bracht ons naar dit hotel voor een overnachting. Schitterend gelegen in dit mooie bergstadje. Vriendelijke en hartelijke ontvangst. Kamer met balkon en een adembenemend uitzicht op de omliggende bergen. Mooie ruime kamer voorzien van alle noodzakelijke comfort en brandschoon. Het hele hotel ademt een warme en vriendelijke sfeer en is werkelijk spic en span. Lekkere eenvoudige avondmaal gehad en met handen en voeten met de vriendelijke bediening gecommuniceerd. Een heerlijke zelfgemaakt tiramisu gehad als dessert. Prima geslapen in het mooie grote bed met uitstekende matrassen. De frisse berglucht... Ontbijt uitgebreid en perfect verzorgd. Hygiëne wordt hier met hoofdletters geschreven! Na het ontbijt een wandeling door het mooie stadje gemaakt en later op de morgen na de laatste heerlijke cappuccino door de hoteleigenaar naar de garage gebracht waar onze auto klaar stond.||Lief, zorgzaam en vriendelijke mensen maken dit familiehotel tot een echte aanrader . Zeker de moeite waard om op de route naar het Zuiden...
