Amazing hotel! All of our rooms ("Rosa" and "Orchidea") were massive, had a kitchen with dining area (with kitchen supplies; cutlery, plates, glasses, oven etc.) and a big bedroom! Rustic Italian feelings. Cooking courses and wine tasting classes were offered by Chef Anna. We opted for the Pizza and Pasta course (gnocchi, pizza, focaccia, pesto, tomato sauce and cantuccini made from scratch). Amazing!! It made me go back in time and feel as if I was cooking with my grandma. Lovely and rustic Italian kitchen. The ingredients were all fresh from the farm or garden. Delicious!
Positives: friendly staff, amazing courses, pretty scenery, location (from Figline Valdarno you can be in Siena, Arezzo or Firenze in 1 hour). Plenty of parking places, lovely pools (indoor and outdoor). The hotel itself is beautiful.
Negatives: gym (very little and old resistance training equipment). Wellness area was under construction/ renovation so it was not accessible. Breakfast buffet was not the best: little to choose from, but most importantly, I would have hoped for (served) freshly brewed coffee and cappuccinos. We instead had to use a coffee machine in the buffet area. Some annoyances here and there about the shower; the water was set to our preference but would turn either super cold or super warm after a few seconds and lasting for a few seconds (for the entirety of...
ย ย ย Read moreWe loved staying in this hotel! It is a beautiful building, steeped in history and tradition. The staff are all extremely pleasant and helpful. The cooking workshop with Anna was delightful and the wine tasting and tour of the villa are very educational. The location is excellent. It is in the centre of the village, where there are plenty of restaurants and bars. There is a good sized market on Tuesdays too. It is easy to make day trips to Montepulciano, Pienza, Arezzo, Florence etc. There is plenty of parking and there is even a train station within walking distance of the hotel. Small improvements could be made to make the experience even better, such as more variety on the breakfast buffet, a second coffee machine, some more shady spots on this terrace perhaps (parasols). In the afternoons (high season) the terrace at the indoor pool could do with more loungers or perhaps some could be placed in the garden area? The outdoor pool is great and the restaurant up there makes a super cappuccino but it is a serious climb up the hill. Not easy for mums with little children or those that are handicapped. Perhaps a golf cart shuttle service would be a good option? Just some small ideas. We loved it and will certainly come back! Grazie e...
ย ย ย Read moreOur stay was amazing! The staff was very professional and very accommodating. Service with a smile! I do recommend booking the wine tour with Anna. She was absolutely amazing and funny! She made the tour pretty exciting for my daughter as well!. The wine made by Casagrande was very good and super reasonably priced! Luckily we drove from Lux to Italy so we managed to purchase quite a few bottles! The history of the villa was also pretty incredible and very interesting to learn about. Soooo much history in the Villa! We had dinner one night, and the food was amazing as well and the portion size was generous. We also enjoyed the random rainstorm that came in! We enjoyed both swimming pools. The view from the outdoor pool was amazing overlooking the town. There is a lot to do in and around the area. And many restaurants! The rooms were very spacious and massive. The pictures donโt do itโs justice to show the true size!. We booked both the Sophia and Hortencia suites. The beds were very comfortable! The location was perfect as you are in the middle from many of the main cities. I highly recommend...
