This hotel is conveniently located off one of the main motorways in Genoa so getting to/from it is not an issue including being on a transit route. There is however, limited restaurants and amenities outside the hotel, within a reasonable walking distance.||The staff are polite and friendly and welcoming. The rooms were average and the bed comfortable. Shower design is awkward with water spilling into the bathroom area as there is no retention lip on the edge to prevent spillage. Also, for towels, there are no face clothes (which I think is just a general thing in Europe) so be sure to pack your own one or you’ll have to do what I did and that was to soak down 1/2 of a hand towel and use it as my facecloth.||The bar and restaurant is decent with very attentive staff and a slightly smaller selection of food and drink than I would prefer. there is a reasonable buffet breakfast in the mornings as well. We ate many meals in the hotel rather than drive out and about to find a place to eat.||Air conditioning in the rooms leaves a bit to be desired. I had mine set to the lowest temp (68 F), and on high fan and could hardly feel it circulating. This is complicated further by the requirement for an RFID card (your door key) being required to be in a power slot near the door to ensure the lights and power to the room remained on. This also meant that leaving your room with your personal items (like a cell phone on charge or laptop charging) stopped charging when you took the key out of the slot when leaving the room. Additionally, with respect to the door key, it was a small tag/card about 1.5-2” long and .75-1” wide, a fraction of the size of a standard hotel room key which made it more awkward to keep tabs on.||There is parking directly beneath the hotel which is convenient, secure, and reasonably priced and is available for hotel guests or day visitors with hourly rates.||Check-In and Check-Out was efficient and accurate and any questions addressed to the front desk personnel were answered promptly.||Housekeeping do not, unless directly approached daily, entirely pay attention to your “Do Not Disturb” signs as I had them come in a couple times while the sign was displayed and even the marker light on the door panel indicating DND. Apologetic each time but frustrating when trying to maintain privacy.||The room safe is of a unique design using a mag stripe equipped card to lock/unlock it. So swiping your credit card would lock and unlock it and while secure because it reads YOUR card’s mag stripe info, I didn’t feel comfortable with the save having this encoded information as I am not certain of the security features of the reader and it’s data retention. I used an unrelated mag striped equipped card I had and that worked fine without me being concerned about the safety of my personally protected/identifiable information.||The hotel stay, overall, was restful and productive and I would stay at this location again if needs...
Read moreOverall I'm happy with this hotel, it is nice, friendly, welcoming and clean. Lovely large windows you can open more than just a crack and the sunshine warms the whole room in minutes, but having said that, the curtains block out even the harshest sunlight so if you're sleeping through the day you'll have no problem. The air conditioning in my room seemed pretty useless, much like a windfarm it was a glorified fan and did nothing more than blow air around not cooling it. The room did have a "minibar" (a small fridge with 4 bottles of water 2 cans of cola and one beer) pretty pointless so I put the fridge to use and stored my own beer and water in there not touching the hotel provided stuff as this was far too expensive in my opinion. (€5.50 for a 330ml can of beer)
The room was fairly clean and tidy, no problems for anyone that isn't too picky.
The hotel is well equipped, it's own restaurant pool and bar. Good food and a large selection at breakfast not so large for other mealtimes.
Pool was not open when I stayed, which I am really disappointed about. Being from England the temperature here in October is still very warm for me and I would have been in the pool everyday had it been open. Plus this is more disappointing when I booked the hotel thinking i don't mind being further from the centre of Genoa if I can go in a pool whenever, but I couldn't even take a sunlounger beside the pool. Like I say very disappointed here.
Overall, if I were to stay here again I would invest in a hired moped to get myself around easier and I would definitely check if the pool would be open...
Read moreThis hotel was not the best. First of all, when you want to enter the parking for the first time, there is a great chance the machine will not work and you will have to call reception for support. Another thing about parking is that parking is a hassle. Almost every car is parking on the lines and leaves no space to park. Also, on car park floor -1, there had been a car burglary. The actual rooms are bad. The sofa bed can't fold up properly, most rooms are left with dirty, unclean floors, all rooms have dust, windows can't open, pipes van be seen inside the room on the roof at the entrance which makes the room uncomfortable. It isn't just that. Every time I wanted to exit the car park, the exit door wouldn't open. Instead, I just pushed the door, and it opened. Would you like to go to a hotel where a burglar can break into your car by just entering the car park with one light push on the exit gates. Also, if you park beside a wall, be wary of the pipes on the side of the walls as they can scratch your car. Trust me, I learnt that one the other day. Also, the pool is pretty deep. If you plan on bringing children, it is best to either bring a floaty or just head to the beach where you pay 50...
