Five years ago, on a tour, we stopped at Villa Il Leccio for lunch. We thought it was one of the most beautiful places we had the privilege to see (both the Villa and the grounds/views) and said so in my review. The Villa is overseen by GIADA, the ninth generation in her family to live and work there. GIADA, and her husband Paolo, manage the Villa with tremendous warmth and competence. She is an expert chef, prepares the meals and manages the Villa. Paolo handles needs for tours, drivers and the like. This October we visited with three friends for five days. We stayed in Casale Naldopaldo (an outbuilding). It is about 100 yards from the main Villa and has three bedrooms (each with its own sitting room and full bath), three other rooms, a full kitchen, 1/2 bath and it’s own pool. It was comfortable and beautiful. Throughout our stay GIADA and Paolo checked in on us and fulfilled out every request. They could not have been more helpful. Using the Villa as a base, we were within easy touring distance of Florence, Lucca, Sienna, and Greve in Chianti. Plus, being in the heart of Chianti, there were vineyards to tour. Villa I’ll Leccio has our highest...
Read moreI am currently on a trafalgar tour, and we made a stop at Villa il Leccio for the "be our guest" dinner. As soon as we arrived, Giada was standing under some trees and greeted every single person in our group with genuine warmth and courtesy. She served us some amazing wine, and we walked around the grounds, looking at breathtaking views. She proceeded to give us a brief tour of her incredible home, and as the tour progressed, we ended up in the dining area. Once seated, her nephews, aunt, and husband went to work serving as Giada continued cooking for 48 people. She and her family can manage a kitchen amazingly well, and everything about the experience was incredible. Her food was outrageously good, and her wine was delicious. It was such a warm and welcoming experience 10/10. Early on in the evening, she explained that rooms are available to rent as a bed and breakfeast. Looking into this, I also learned that Giada has taught some cooking classes at the villa for an added experience. I hope to stay here and learn from such a friendly and amazing master chef one day. I recommend staying/scheduling a visit here if you are in Venice. I will definitely...
Read moreI visited Italy of three weeks this spring. We stayed in some very nice places; but the Villa was the BEST!!! Each room was unique. The house was very old and the rooms had been "modernized" with all of the important things that are required for weary travelers. The best part was the food. Giada was truly a wonderful chef and the meals were fantastic! The Villa has been in her family for hundreds of years and it was wonderful to experience the gardens and the common rooms as well. Everything showed that she cared about her guests individually. I was with a tour group so my time actually spent in and around the building was minimal but it was very special. Thank-you, Giada, for your...
