We stayed at Emilia’s B&B for three nights with our dog. We wanted a quiet getaway where we could enjoy some walks, but it wasn’t really what we expected. We specifically searched for a place where dogs were allowed and where we could park for free, but we had to pay extra for the parking and for our dog! We booked with Airbnb and parking was included in the price and about an extra fee for the dog there was nothing told up front. On top of this, I didn’t feel very welcome with the dog ... Emilia has a cat, which wasn’t really a problem for our dog since we have a cat at home as well. Afterwards she wrote a review that our dog is agressive. The dog did bark a couple of times because it was a new location. She did never do anything aggressive towards her or another visitor. She told us that the dog wanted to attack her but she only wanted to say hello. Don’t allow dogs if you are not comfortable with or afraid of them! The location wasn’t good, the street is very busy and dangerous because there’s no sidewalk, so you can’t really take a walk around the lake. We were aware that there was a train passing by, and it made a lot of noise, it feels like the train is passing trough the room. The woman was very meddlesome about us. She even came into our private even though the door was locked. No respect for privacy. English also didn't make any sense despite this being a requirement via Airbnb. We were welcomed by someone who did not speak a single word of English. For our first time on Airbnb we are very dissapointed in our choice. I would really not recommend. Below a picture of our really dangerous dog of...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here in mid-June 2015 and really enjoyed the experience. The property was located across the street from Lake Como, which could be viewed from the house's patio. The house was situated on a beautifully gardened property. Parking was available on-site. A private entrance of the house led to a basic, self-contained bedroom with a reading area and a private bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the setup was nice. Some could conceivably view it as dated and too basic, but we found it to be charming. The owners lived two levels up and we never heard them while inside the room. The owner greeted us upon arrival and was a very gracious host. She spoke basic English, proficient Spanish and fluent Italian. She provided us with local tourist maps and made several restaurant recommendations. We had full freedom of movement and felt free to come and go as we pleased. We had a private vehicle with us which was important. The road was not particularly conducive for walking. While a small hamlet was nearby, one would need to use taxi services to visit the towns on the lake. A highlight of the stay was the breakfast. It was served on the property's patio - which was surrounded by a beautiful garden and a view of the lake, beyond the garden and across the road below. The homemade meal consisted of cereal and market fresh foods bought earlier that morning - it was delicious. The owner was a great host. I would definitely stay here again during a...
