Villa Battisole — Hotel in Magione

Was fortunate to spend a week in Villa Battisole in May 2024, and it was an exceptional experience. The location is stunning...full on view of lake Trasimeno from the house and the pool, which especially stunning views at sunset. The property is perfectly groomed, and roses were in full bloom during my week there. There are ample places to sit outside, a lovely pool huge umbrellas, a gym, a bar with fireplace, a tennis court and bocce court...in short, you will want for nothing. Inside, villa had more than ample space for our group of 11, with many sitting areas, a huge and beautifully designed and equipped kitchen, and bedrooms with sitting areas and huge bathrooms. The design overall of the villa, the rooms and the gardens is magnificent. Comfortable, but luxurious, and always in keeping with the Umbrian aesthetic. The highlight overall was the staff. Our concierge Letizia could not have been more kind, helpful and welcoming, and was always available for even the smallest request. She and the rest of the staff including Allesandro, Ana, Caterina and others were remarkable. The villa is associated with a company that has a restaurant, olive oil mill and other enterprises....and the breakfasts and meals provided were of fantastic quality. Villa Battisole is in a perfect position. The views from the house sweep across the lawn and gardens full of flowers, over the house tops of Monte del Lago, and then across Lago Trasimeno. So peaceful. All of the rooms feel luxurious in size, are tastefully decorated, and impeccably maintained. I cooked the entire week and loved the kitchen, but I found great caffe/bars so close to the house. There is such a sweet caffe at the top of the road, before turning right for Magione, called Otto and I loved the restaurant on the water, called Rosso Sera in San Feliciano. A delicious and indulgent breakfast was delivered every morning. There were beautiful settings for the tables which made every meal look spectacular. Our group was so comfortable and happy.
