CASALE ALMA — Hotel in Marsala

At first I was a bit put off by the fact that this lovely property is a bit outside Marsala, but was so glad that we decided to book! It was the absolutely best B+B we've ever stayed in. Michele and Vincenzo made us very welcome from the word go and we really felt more like visiting a friend's home - actually, what a real B+B should be like, but usually they are just a small hotel. The house is beautiful, with a lovely garden and view across to the coast. Our room (like the whole house) was very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The breakfast was just amazing, with local products and it's obvious that Michele has a passion for the wonderful Sicilian ingredients. All in all, a real treasure. We'd have loved to have stayed longer and hope to come...

Looking at the reviews on here it seemed that somebody else also had a problem with an overbooking (in June) We turned up to be told that they had no trace of our booking fortunate we had a copy of the confirmation and they were apologetic and then found us somewhere else to say ( next door Villa Carlo Resort). They asked us to join them for the supper - we were 9 people a Swedish couple, a Canadian couple, a German lady, a French couple and ourselves excellent food and good company. The owner while speaking little English tried to be friendly - I disagree with the review from June 8th though without GPS it would be...

This is a beautiful well maintained bed and breakfast w lovely sea views from the grounds. It is a good value about 75 euro per 2 w breakfast. However the owner is indifferent to a) English speakers and b) 2 women travelling together.He winces when you speak English puts his cell phone at your mouth for auto translate. At breakfast all Europeans are catered to and then there's you. The booking corps and CA generate overbooking which we were snagged in our 3rd night. Owner overreacted then accommodated us and apologized. Location is very hard to find if you don't have GPS or low roaming charges...a big issue coming and going...
