Relais la Fattoria — Hotel in Melfi

This is a potentially nice place but the service is very poor: they take pictures of your room and ask you to set up your bed for the cleaning ladies to not do too much work. The personnel asks personal information and is nosy. They look how much you eat and comment in front of other guests. Overall I felt I was paying a very expensive room but had to feel as I was a guest at their home and they were bothered even at just providing basic service. The breakfast food is not fresh and the restaurant is mediocre. Cocktails way below normal standards. If you are bringing a guest and care of your own reputation choose another place. it is very far from downtown may be good it you care of feeling that you pay for a luxury experience but you are getting grumpy personnel that asks you to clean. They have a dog in the property with poop pending out of its coat as nobody cares. Overall just a pretentious place not worth the money.

A 4 star hotel (price) but services provided were poor.|From the service provided I think the hotel is mainly interested in frequent business travellers (rather than occasional tourists).|We complained about A/C not working (not pleasant staying in a room with fixed 29C in August), the mini fridge wasn’t working. |I travel a lot for business and family reasons (mostly 4 stars hotels) and if a customer complaints about the room, then an alternative room must be found.|It’s unacceptable to spend 3 days in a room without A/C (it was cooler outside) and the mini fridge must be fixed if broken.||Something else is related to the swimming pool, probably used mainly for weddings as it’s left on its own and it wasn’t very clean.||On the plus side; the restaurant is very good.||I would not recommend this hotel to...

We stayed one night en route to Naples. Clean, modern hotel with character. Room of good size. Balcony small with no seating. We ate in hotel restaurant, as it is a few miles into Melfi itself. Nothing immediately nearby hotel. Asked to be moved in restaurant as football playing on huge tv screen. Moved, only to find same on the other side!!!. Didnt expect that in a hotel of this quality. The food was good. Starter of Capriossa salad was begin enough for a main course, but had already ordered Hamburger,which incidentally doesnt come with a bun. House red wine was excellent. Cold breakfast buffet was very good. The lady that runs it is obviously very proud of her domain! Spoke excellent english. Views from our room were superb. Do drive into Melfi. The view of town and castle is breathtaking. Take care...
