This is a keenly priced 3 star hotel, and offers excellent value for money.||Roberto and Orvieta do a very good job of welcoming you and helping you: their English is better than my Italian, so with a little patience it is all understood, and works out.||It is a very clean, quiet place...ideal after a day's sightseeing in Venice. The pool is a godsend on a hot day ....chill out in it when you get back. Wifi is free, and pretty fast. Air conditioning in our room worked fairly well in 31 degrees. Only breakfast is supplied. There used to be a restaurant next door, but that is now a "Mexican" resto....read the reviews about it before committing yourself!||The bus to Padua or Venice is a 10 minute walk - a 20 min weekday schedule, and you get your tickets at the bar/tabacchi 50 metres from the hotel. We found a good restaurant about 12 mins walk away, but unless you have a car, be prepared to walk a little. There is a nearby supermarket for drinks etc (good prices on bottles of excellent prosecco!).||If you want a quiet base outside Venice, this is ideal: access to Padua and Vicenza is also good. Car parking is free, and many guests use this: we used a pre-booked taxi to & from the airport...
Read moreThis one was a great find -- very comfortable room in a spartan style of furnishing but with a wonderful modern bathroom and all conveniences (including good wi-fi). The older front building has two wings in back that seem quite new, and there are courtyards between them for a pleasant view and a swimming pool out back. (We didn't try that -- it was a chilly November day.) This may be the cleanest hotel I've ever seen in Italy. The service was very nice, owner/manager spoke some English, breakfast was good in the Italian style. (Pastry, bread, coffee or tea, yogurt, some ham and cheese.) A very good restaurant next door by the same name offered beautifully cooked fish dishes and a good choice of wines. Private parking in the back of the hotel. This area is pricey because of the proximity to Venice (which is why we were there -- we drove, probably 20 minutes to the big parking lot near the train station, but there is also bus service from Mira). We would certainly stay here again if we are in the area. One tip: there is a bustling street market right in front of this hotel on...
Read moreI really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Isola di Caprera. I stayed there for 1 week while visiting Venice. The hotel is located approx 25 minutes by bus (that stops very close to the hotel) and goes directly to Piazza Roma in Venice.||The hotel is beautifully located and has a lovely swimming pool and garden which I made daily use of before heading off to Venice. ||The couple who own the hotel are very nice and offer great service. I was able to keep my room for late check out as I was leaving late in the afternoon and they provided me with an excellent driver that picked me up and dropped me off at the airport for less than a taxi costs. ||I would highly recommend staying there - the hotel is lovely and rooms are spacious and clean and a very nice breakfast was...
