Hotel Casa Americani — Hotel in Montà

The swimming pool is great, however, it is at least 250 meters away and you need to cross traffic to get there. It opens at 2pm. That all bothered us quite a bit as the description said otherwise and the pool was a big reason we chose this hotel. Air conditioning available but it doesn’t cool the place very well. It gets temperature down but quite slowly. Air stream could be a lot stronger. Rooms are very clean and spaceous, great shower with lots of water thrust. Beds are really nice. Breakfast is really good, lots of options, fresh juice machine, any type of coffee you desire, super friendly staff. Staff are friendly and helpful but reception not very well manned and no bell to ring them. It’s not a big problem but a bit strange. There is a Michelin recommended restaurant next to the hotel. Amazing food, definitely recommend it. Location is a bit off but town of Alba is not far off and it’s a lovely town with great shops and restaurants. Recommend...

We had 2 rooms and stayed 3 nights. The rooms were a reasonable size, comfortable, and clean. No one seems to regularly be at the front desk. A person in the cafe next door got us our keys at check in and we left a note at the desk to meet us when we checked out. Not exactly what we expected - but it worked well. Breakfast was excellent and the WiFi was excellent once we managed to find someone to reboot the system. There is no elevator, so getting the luggage up two flights of stairs was tiring. The staff could not have been friendlier. One night, the cafe was not serving dinner, but they contacted the kitchen and they arranged for us to have dinner. Ein kleines: feines und sehr persönliches „Stadt“-Hotel mit einem Spitzenrestaurant und einer modernen Cafeteria im Zentrum des 4000-Seelen-Dorfes Montà, direkt an einer großen Piazza, auf der donnerstags und vor allem sonntags der vielbesuchte Markt stattfindet.||Dort bzw an der Anwohner-Straße zwischen Hotel und Piazza kann kostenlos geparkt werden. An der Piazza fährt stündlich auch der (preisgünstige) Schnellbus nach Turin bzw. Alba ab.||Ausgesprochen herzlicher Empfang durch Chefin Manuela Lanzone in italienischer und fließend englischer Sprache, Hilfe bei Ausflügen in die Roero-Umgebung, Ticketbuchung (Juventus!) und bspw.Trüffelsuche, Vespa-/ E-Bike-Ausflüge, Besuch von Weinproben zB in der Cascina Chicco im Nachbarstädtchen Canale und mehr.||Das Casa Americani hat eine Suite und fünf bequeme, saubere Zimmer mit Du/WC, auch barrierefrei, WLAN (das nicht immer störungsfrei funktionierte), TV, Minibar, Tresor, und großartiges, gar modern-italienisches Frühstück mit regionalen Produkten und viel Obst, frischen Eierspeisen nach Wunsch und freundlicher Bedienung. ||Man fühlt sich im Casa Americani wie zuhause, vor allem wenn man, wie wir, zurückkehrt.||Zum Casa Americani gehört das Ristorante Marcelin. Dort ist der abendliche Besuch angesichts seiner Spitzenküche (Chefkoch Andrea Ferrucci, der mit drei 24 Jahre jungen Köchen zaubert und nebenher -Tipp!- auf instagram Rezepte vorstellt) und 1a-Service (Angelo Valsania und Team) ein Muss. Für mich ist es ein Rätsel, weshalb dieser wirkliche Gourmettempel immer noch keinen Michelin-Stern hat. Die Restaurantküche versorgt übrigens auch die Cafeteria (Bistrot art-é), in der man -mitten zwischen Jung und Alt aus Montà- ein kleines Menu nehmen und beste Weine aus Montà und dem Langhe-Roero trinken kann; Bier gibt‘s auch, aber das war im Verhältnis recht teuer. Es gibt selbstproduziertes Speiseeis. ||200m entfernt liegt übrigens der küchentechnische „Gegenentwurf“: Das Ristorante Belvedere, das allerbeste (!) traditionell-piemontesische Küche und nebenbei von seinem Balkon einen wunderbaren Aperitivo-Blick über das Roero bietet. ||Abnehmen wird man in Montà schwerlich können, genießen allerdings...
