My wife and I came to enjoy our anniversary. The time of the year was the only downside, which isn't the hotels fault at all. Many restaurants were closed due to the winter time, so we had far less options for Lunch which proved difficult. It was hard to eat a panini from a small random shop and then go to a really nice dinner at the hotel. Overall the attention to our needs and comfort were very good and the staff was friendly and professional. We enjoyed the attention to detail, for example leaving an open bottle of champagne in the room only to come back and see it's been corked for future drinking. I enjoyed the comfort of the hotel and staff. I do have to say that another guest had children who watched videos on their ipads the entire dinner. This really ruined that night, as the ambiance of fireplace, music, and loud kid shows really didn't mesh and distracted me from enjoying or even talking at my table. This was a major flaw in a 5 star experience. I regretted having dinner at the property this night and did not enjoy the experience. Additionally this table were not guests at the hotel, so that added to the downside of the experience. The staff should've acknowledged this and politely ask them to either turn the volume off or put any electronic...
Read moreOutstanding! First of all, the staff is so nice!! Aldo and Irina are so welcoming and really ensure that your stay is perfect! They offered us great advice for day trips and their recommendations were the best. (Aldo provided a dinner recommendation on our second night, it was perfect for us) We had dinner in the hotel restaurant on our first night and to experience what Chef Nino prepared was such a treat! He explained each ingredient in our dishes (the tomatoes from the base of Mount Vesuvius are such a unique flavour, it makes you want for more). This is a perfect location to stay and then venture to sight see the area. Only a few minutes from Forte Dei Marmi, where you can shop, including top designer stores and dine at numerous restaurants along the seaside. Aldo and Irina arranged a tour of the Marble Quarry in Carrara, it was an incredible sight. It is a “must do” when you are here. Ill Bottaccio is a beautiful property and feels like you are staying in a wonderful home. Linens are very nice and everything is spotless. This is one of the best places we have the pleasure to stay at and...
Read moreI have read all the reviews!|Our experience - the staff were amazing especially Aldo. The food was on the whole delicious but very expensive. Breakfast - too many plates, bowls and the fruit salad was going brown by the third day! Very surprised they did not make it fresh each day. Much better and cheaper at our hotel in Florence the previous week.|Our room (junior suite) looked out to a wall, no terrace and dark. I was very disappointed especially as our friends opposite had been upgraded to a suite with private garden at no extra cost. (My husband could not climb the stairs to our upgrade due to a knee problem).|It was cold so we had to eat some meals round the internal pool which smell of chlorine which was unpleasant.|The pool was not heated so we could not swim. Very disappointed.|And very expensive. I am surprised it was full the following week. There...
