RIVIERA DEL SOLE — Hotel in Piraino

We have visited Riviera del Sole the last week of August and we spent 11 days which we will never forget! We were on a family vacation with our 4 small kids.||||Even though I have read great reviews about this place, I was still unsure what I would have found as soon as I arrived. However, once we arrived to the village, it was an unforgettable experience. ||||The apartment had all the necessary commodities which we required. Although we were located in the furthest apartment from the main facilities, it wasn't too far. The apartment was very clean. ||||The management of the village were helpful with whatever we required. The village in general was very clean and well kept. I noticed the maintenance guys all the time going round the village, keeping the facility to the best condition. ||||The facilities are very good - great swimming pool, very clean and safe. The village has a lot of facilities like tennis courts, football pitch and parking was always available. The village has a great spa which my wife had the pleasure to experience which offers very good service. ||||We were on half board and I will not regret it in anyway. Great food and service, value for money and a very nice place to eat at. Well done.||||Last but not least, the SUPER animation team who were the best people we could have met. Great shows and very talented team who entertained us from morning till late night. Well prepared by Ben and Antonio, great entertainers. A special thanks to the staff who took care of the kids club - Federica, Enza, Rossana, Martina and Matteo. Being from Malta, our kids couldn't communicate very well in Italian. However, the staff made their best to involve them in all their activities. BIG thanks to all the Sipariamo team. The kids still sing the baby dance songs every day in the car while going to school. Riviera del Sole Review 3.75 out of 5 stars

Overall, a solid resort experience, but it fell short of the expectations after seeing the Google review rating saying it was 4.5 stars. I always like to ask myself, “would I come here again?” And the answer on Riviera del Sole was it was OK, but we won’t be booking another stay.

What we liked: Amazing beach location, view, and fantastic set up on the beach. Piraino was a cute little town within walking distance of the resort. The front receptionist on Thursday morning was very helpful and service oriented. Decent pool and solid apartment set up. Very clean location. Food was OK by southern Italian standards, but no dish made you stop and say, “wow, that’s pretty good.”

Where could Riviera del Sole improve? It’s a small thing (but those make a difference!), but the breakfast coffee was terrible (they had this out of date Nescafé machine - and that’s an American saying that about Italian coffee!)For a 4 star resort, I’d expect a barista level coffee included in the price. Whereas if you wanted a cappuccino from the bar at breakfast, you had to pay extra. Kids animation employees were nice, but lacked a little bit the passion and excitement that we’ve seen at other resorts. -Better kitchen for “half board” and a better drink selection at dinner. I got the chance to visit this fabulous hotel in Piraino. I spent a week there and honestly I was surprised. Everything was perfekt. This four star hotel has undoubtedly a lot of offers for teenagers/kids and older people. Spa area + swimming pool, soccer field, tennis field and lots more were available for guests. Honestly I enjoyed their private beach the most, which was next to the hotel. There is no doubt that the staff were so friendly and kind.They were always there for us and offered a helping hand in every situation. By the way they had all the time a nice smile on their faces, which made us feel happy and safe. We don’t need to talk about the food, because I think it’s self-explanatory. But I cant just leave it like that. The food was delicious. If you stay here in this hotel then you can experience the taste and specialties of Sicilia. Last but not least it was a perfekt vacation in Riviera del Sole. We had a beautiful time. The highlight was, that we got from the owner a cactus leaf which we were able to take home.
