During our visit to Tuscany, we wanted to stay near San Gimignano for four days and three nights. After some research, we discovered Hotel Villa San Luchese in Poggibonsi, which turned out to be a delightful surprise. The location, service, and atmosphere truly capture the essence of the Tuscan dream! We made a direct booking with the hotel, which offered a significantly lower price than most third-party booking platforms. Before our arrival, the hotel contacted us via WhatsApp to inquire about our arrival time and our preferences for double beds. We found this to be extremely thoughtful. We requested the possibility of connecting rooms, and the hotel arranged for us to have rooms as close as possible. To our surprise, we later discovered that our rooms had been upgraded! Upon our arrival, we were instantly enveloped in a "Call Me by Your Name" vibe, as my teenage daughters described it. The hotel feels more like a small resort. As we walked toward the reception, we were greeted by a charming Italian garden on the right, along with a beautiful arched ceiling at the front entrance. The hotel features two pools, a tennis court, and a stunning outdoor dining area with panoramic views overlooking the Tuscan hills dotted with grapevines and olive trees. We didn’t hesitate to book a table for our first dinner upon arrival. I love how two generations have worked together over the years to restore Hotel Villa while still maintaining its original charm. What really stood out was the genuine hospitality. The friendly service creates an atmosphere that makes us feel truly welcome. Lorenzo provided us with valuable local insights that surpassed ChatGPT. Marcantoni (馬東尼) offered us a culturally fused Italian and Taiwanese experience during our stay. He greeted and served every guest like a personal barista, making the perfect cup of cappuccino and espresso. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an authentic Tuscan experience with heart, history, and unforgettable service.

The Family Superior was the most spacious room we had on our Italy trip, giving us room to unpack and spread out. The bathroom had a large shower stall. All was very clean and functional. The front desk staff were very helpful in recommending and arranging dinner reservations and wine tastings. Negatives: No bar/lounge for pre-dinner drinks. The restaurant was expensive and pretentious - I recommend going elsewhere for dinner. WiFi only works in the lobby. And the breakfast buffet wasn't as bountiful as we experienced elsewhere, although you can make special requests from the kitchen.

Hotel villa San Lucchesse is a Toscan gem, nestled between Siena and San Gimigianno it offers a perfect location for day excursions of the local attractions, as well as a wonderful place to enjoy the relaxing pool, garden and tennis court. It's charm has a lot to do with its authentic decor and the friendly staff, that makes you feel at home from the very first moment - hospitality at its very best. Another huge plus of the Villa is the superb restaurant (check it out in its own review. To conclude, Hotel Villa San Lucchesse has won a place in our hearts, highly recommended ❤️

We stayed for 5 nights and got the suite. The garden is very pretty, but that's it. It is an old building with very high ceilings. The bathroom war renovated. But on the carpet you could find spots, where something was spilled, as well on a table cloth. The bed was almost falling apart- the headboard was quite loose. The breakfast was ok, but not amazing. On a few days came the head cook to the tables and ask if we wanted an omelette, but not everyday. When you came later, f.e. the eggs would be gone. The staff was very funny: we stayed at the beginning of October and it was really cold ( outside temperature was 13 degrees) and we asked how to start the heating - it is forbidden- was the answer. When I asked what to do, because it was really cold in the room ( 4m ceilings) the receptionist told me with straight face " I don't know" . A Day before he didn't wanted to give us wine glasses, but five minutes later he brought them. Facit: a good 3* hotel, but not 4*, unfortunately not worth the money ( paid 170 € per night, low season). I would not...
