I hate leaving one-star reviews because we live in an imperfect world, but this one was well deserved. Unfriendly staff and a really poor area to stay at. I took my senior parents on a trip through an agency that brings people their age to Rome. The agency chose the hotel; it was by far the worst hotel I stayed at in my humble life. The hotel advertises 24/7 room service, but when I wanted to order food from the restaurant, I was told by the waiter that it would cost an extra 10 euros to get it. I said, strange but OK, then she called the hotel manager, who told me it was now 30 euros. I got annoyed but said OK, and he told me he couldn’t do it because he had carpet in the room. I pride myself on not looking like a bum or my relatives. However, you can sense that how they addressed the entire group was discriminatory. Sometimes, luck works in mysterious ways because that night, I got the worst food poisoning from their restaurant food, and I was glad I didn’t buy the extra meal. I told the front desk in the morning about the issue and suggested maybe they want to look into it- they said- sorry, it was only you. The next day, we decided to eat at the pizzeria across the street, but the pizzeria had no pizza for the second night in a row. Lol. We had no car, so we went to the convenience store next to it to get something small. We managed to get some dried-up ciabatta and sausage to snack on. The store staff was very rude too. I used to work as a tour guide, and I’ve built my tolerance toward mishaps- I’ve traveled to quite a few places, but this hotel and the area were far worse than any other place I’ve ever been to. If you stay there a week with no car, you’d probably celebrate the next time you see a Super 8 motel or a 711 store. Stay away, people! Considering the dirty bathrooms, slippery floors, and light sensors shutting off on you while you sit on the toilet- The health department should shut this place down and definitely have no more than 1 star to brag about. And they definitely need a new hotel manager and...
Read moreThis hotel is NOT modern, unless that description on their website was written in 1840. The same decade as the multi-coloured, mismatching sofas that adorn the reception area. Just a couple of points to mention:|- The lights in the bathroom are on a timer so be prepared to do the YMCA and wave your hands above your head if you don’t want to lather your bits up in the dark.|- The air conditioning doesn’t work.|- They do not provide irons for use, though they will happily provide an ironing service: unfortunately I had a party to attend that night and couldn't wait the three day turn-around.|- The bedrooms are decorated in a post-tasteful style, and my room had a painting of a semi-naked woman which appeared to have what I suspect was an additional contribution to the face from a guest. Wallpaper peeling off. These rooms are truly a sight to behold.|- When you order a drink be prepared to walk to reception to pay and then walk back to the bar to collect your drink. Don’t rush as the drink won’t satiate any thirst you develop, the only thing their Prosecco will satiate is a desire to move onto your next life.|- In the bathroom you have a choice between a towel or a tea-towel: yes that’s right. Your room comes with two tea-towels. So if you’re in a rush to get on holiday and only half finish your dishes, don’t stress - bring them with you.||If you liked the hotel in The Shining, this is the...
