We booked our 2 week half board holiday as no all inclusive is available here with Jet 2.com and read the reviews which were from 2024 and did our own research about the hotel. The hotel is an old Manor House in lovely surrounding countryside and gardens. Our accommodation was in a fairly new single story block of 6 rooms which was very nice, good size room and bathroom with large shower excellent air conditioning also an outside seating area. The fresh water pool was well maintained with adequate sun loungers and umbrellas in a loverly setting with a kiosk for drinks and snacks. Toilet facilities were back in the main hotel. The restaurant had both an outside eating area under shaded canopies and an inside area too. Breakfast consisted of a very good continental style choice pluse scrambled eggs boiled eggs and a continental bacon. Muesli fresh fruit and accompaniments. Juices, tea and coffee.|The evening meal for the half board clientele was from a choice given by the waitress, first course a choice of between 2 or 3 types of pasta dishes, which were repeated every 2 days, Second course was a choice of only 2 dishes between chicken, veil and occasionally beef plus trout and bass. When 2 meat dishes were offered then they would go and check with the kitchen and offer a trout or bass as an alternative. Desserts again a choice of 2 or 3 usually a lemon sorbet, Panna cotta , tiramisu, occasionally a tart of some sort if they had had a large bus tour in. We must say that as half board clientele we felt inferior to those guests who were only staying a day or so and having the à la carte menu. Water was 3.5 euros for a 750mls bottle bottles of wine from 20 euros, small beer 5.0 euros.|As the hotel is rural the guide stated the nearest bus stop was 2km away about 20 minutes walk in Ponti Su Mincio. But there is only 3 buses going out a day, fortunately the one at 9.26 was ideal to travel into Peschiera 2.2 euro each way tickets bought from the shop opposite the bus stop. Return tickets available. The return from Peschiera was 14.07 or later one 17.38 or a taxi would be anywhere from 15 to 25 euro depending who and where it’s booked from.|You can get out and about with some thought and planning, the hotel does hire out a selection of bicycles from 10 euros a day and there are plenty of cycle routes around and about. Car hire is available if not pre booked with your holiday if you’re planning getting out and about to explore the lake as also scooters can be hired from 29 euros a day. |The local town of Ponti Su Mincio does have a castle a restaurant and a good cafe...
Read moreMyself and my son stayed at the Corte Cavalli in Sept 23. It's a beautiful old estate 8-10 min by car / cab (15 Euro) away from the centre of Peschiera. The hotel itself can be found at the bottom of a long driveway and is is made up of a number of buildings which also house the reception, restaurant and wellness centre. I have to say that this is one of the most charming hotels I've stayed at for a number of reasons. The rooms themselves are typical old style Italian but with everything you need including air con and beautiful bathrooms. They are cleaned daily to a high standard. Beds very comfy. All staff are warm and friendly and bend over backwards to be of assistance. The pool area is well equipped, clean and very peaceful being surrounded by fields. We stayed half board and the quality of the food was excellent. The only slight negative was the repetition throughout the week. It's a 3 course menu with a few choices for each course each evening. There was something new each day but still, in my opinion, a few more options throughout the week would be beneficial. Waiting staff are helpful and are multi-lingual so don't worry if your Italian is a little rusty! If you dont have a car, Peschiera itself has a port so the ferries which operate as water taxis, can take you to other destinations round the lake - timetables are available online or from the hotel / port booking office. There is also a train station. Verona is 20 mins away and Venice 1.5 hrs by train so perfect for day trips. The hotel has bike hire which is recommended if you don't have a car as constant cabs into town can prove costly. The wellness centre consists of two saunas, large whirlpool and two sensory showers. There is also a treatment room for massages ( charge applies) The weather was great with an average of 25 degrees. Im told its like this in May and September. July and August can be very hot and humid and the hotel and resort gets busy. The upshot is, if you want a friendly, peaceful place to stay in beautiful surroundings to recharge your batteries and read that book you have had bedside your bed for the last 12 months, then this really is the...
Read moreWe stayed at RCC during our summer vacation as a family with kids. Overall, we came back home with pleasant memories. If you look into details, I believe there are things that needs attention at this place.
-The building, surroundings and the atmosphere is amazing! Very beautiful architecture and details, nice pool and garden. Also quiet silent and peaceful despite many kids :)
-The staff was very friendly. But you really miss the presence of a “hotel manager” who could be visible during the day and establish a connection with the guests. The guests should be asked to continuous feedback during the stay… This is definitely not the case…
-The area was hit by an extraordinary storm 3 weeks before our visit. And we also suffered the consequences of it. Hot water was a problem due to storm damage, especially during peak hours like before dinner. Terrace of the restaurant was also closed, large umbrellas were broken and not repaired. I don’t know whether they made a conscious choice to leave them messy but it felt like we were at a stranded place. I would prefer to have it fixed or at least tidied up if I were to make the call. I did not see any efforts during our 8 days stay.
F&B : Breakfast is okay. I’d prefer having better coffee though. We never had lunch but the dinner was included in our booking. Very basic 3 course menu, food was okay but limited variety. Wine was okay. Restaurant staff was also very friendly… We also noticed the absence of a bar. You come back from dinner outside and would like to have a drink/coffee, no chance but the minibar… Number of seats to chill was also very limited. Overall, for a 4 star hotel, I’d expect better F&B availability.
I believe with a bit of attention to detail and investment, this place could be a very nice destination to...
