Hotel Jonic — Hotel in Portopalo di Capo Passero

We (Alessandro & Asa, Johan, Filip & Lukas) are a family with three sons (20, 18, 18) living in Gothenburg, Sweden. We have chosen to stay at "Hotel Jonic" because it looks so nice in the photos posted on the web and because it has excellent comments in Tripadvisor. Now we have been there, and we must say that our stay has been really wonderful, more than we could ever expect! What we have most appreciated is the hospitality of the owners, Rosario and Dora, and of the whole hotel team (Gianni, Marcello, Sebastiano, etc). What wonderful people they are! We didn't feel as hotel guests; we felt as being in a family! The breakfasts and dinners prepared by Dora were outstanding: full of Sicilian specialities, rich of taste, and "fatti con amore". Now we are back in Sweden, and what remains in our mind is the memory of such a wonderful holiday! Spent 17 nights in July in this great family-run hotel. Stayed in the annex in a big modern room, with AC, TV, fridge, balcony, small dining table, sofa: e.g. a suite! For a start: hotel is very clean. Food is very good. Portopalo is a great place to have summer holidays. But what makes this place better than a 7 star luxury hotel is their service: Saro and Dora were more than personalized. They were caring, supportive, generous, hard-working and devoted to their guests: 24*7. I sleep more than 100 nights per year in 5 star hotels for business purposes and Hotel Ristorante Jonic was a refreshing experience: it deserves my deepest respects in terms of what hospitality really means. First a disclaimer as we did not stay at this hotel - we were a few steps down the road in an apartment, but some family members were based here for the weekend and we were in and out plus breakfasting each day and ate here for two nights. ||||The bedrooms are lovely, clean and not too small.
