My parents have been staying at this hotel for the past 9 years and were always happy to return, so I decided to stay there with my father and sister this year. ||It is a three-storey rustic hotel with a S rating, but in my opinion it's more like 4. The rooms are tastefully decorated (mostly pine furniture), with plenty of room. We stayed at the suite on the top floor, which is a bit pricey; my parents tell me that tyrolean rooms are better value as they are spacious enough and should suffice for travelling couples. There are also appartments about 2 mins walk away, which are perfect for larger companies who don't mind doing their own cooking. ||||There are lovely exposed beams on the bedroom ceiling, but the bedroom door was clumsily positioned and I usually had to duck to avoid hitting my head, even though I'm average height. The beds could be a bit more comfortable, but after a full day's skiing I just didn't care.||The bathroom is very spacious, it's kept meticulously clean and towels are changed daily, although you are encouraged to reuse them to conserve water. ||The living room has a large picture window overlooking the town, which opens onto a narrow balcony. There's a TV in the bedroom and another one in the living room. The living room couch extends into an extra bed if necessary. ||The common room on the ground floor abuts the dining room, it features a fireplace, a small library and a bar, and it is great for a nightcap or a quiet evening in. ||There's an elevator to help with your luggage, though it does not go to the third (top) floor and despite being relatively new, it can be a bit choppy on the topmost part of the ride up. ||There is also a storage room for your skis and ski boots with handy warming racks to dry your equipment and keep it warm. ||||All the guest there are free to use the swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. The sauna is well maintained and offers a turkish, finnish and a biosauna, and there's an option of a massage.||||Breakfast is self-service with a wide selection of cold meats, fruit, yoghurt, fresh juice and jams. I couldn't find any cereal, but due to a wide variety of other foods I didn't miss it at all. The dinners are delicious; there's usually a set 5-course menu with a vegetarian entree option, but there are also some simpler alternative options for the more fussy eaters (a winenerschnitzel, grilled meat etc.). Drinks include local wines and beer and various non-alcoholic beverages. Due to some weird regulation they do not serve large beers (0.5 l). They will keep your bottled water until next evening if you don't finish the bottle. The staff is extremely friendly and will usually know you by name by your second stay. ||||The hotel is about 200m from the nearest ski bus stop, and the Kronplatz (Plan de Corones) ski resort is a mere 5min drive away. The town is composed mostly of hotels and shops catering to skiers and a couple of ranches, one of which belongs to the hotel owners and offers a riding school in the summer. Nightlife is pretty much nonexistent in Olang and partypeople should consider Bruneck (Brunico). The price-conscious should mind the beginning of the high season on the first weekend in February, after which the prices increase considerably throughout town and on the slopes. The ski bus, which used to be free, is now charging 3€ for a daily pass and 6€ for a weekly ticket, which is a bit steep and if you have a car there you are much better off driving to the slopes yourself. There's plenty of parking spaces and it is easily accessible. ||||All in all, this is a great hotel, suited for people who don't mind spending a bit more for a top-notch service and a quiet skiing holiday. Young people might get bored due to lack of entertainment, but I doubt the hotel targets that kind...

This is an odd review in that I have almost nothing negative to say. This was an awesome hotel experience. I say experience because the rooms were large, by European standards, well maintained (although the TVs were older and small), the food was simply incredible (and far too plentiful), the location was good and the extras - pool, fitness center, kids room were quite adequate. I will go point by point to flesh this out a bit.||About us: family of four, two parents, ten year old girl, seven year old boy traveling with another family of three (10 year old girl) for a ski vacation.||The rooms: we booked a suite, which was two floors with two bedrooms on the top floor and a living room, bathroom, terrace on the first. This was large and clean and the only drawbacks were the single bathroom (no bathtub) on the lower floor and the single older tv. But we were there to ski and so the tv was barely used. When it was it had cable and the kids were happy.||The food: simply awesome and plentiful. Really. Dinners were multi course meals and only the males in the group could eat all the courses. The kids usually opted out of the more challenging dishes for ever present pasta or wiener schnitzel. The service was always, always friendly and helpful.||The bar was friendly and they even showed a football/soccer match on a big screen (Bayern Munchen - Basel) while were there which was special for everyone.||The location: steps from the bus pickup (multiple lines) for the ski mountain. Ski rental was nearby at 3 different locations. Butcher was across the street. Supermarkets (2) were both within 200 meters. Other shops nearby.||The extras: the sauna looked great but I did not use it. The pool was nice that they have one but it is much too small for swimming. Really only good for small kids to play in. The fitness room was functional but as we were skiing each day we never used it. There was also a kids activity room and the kids loved it. You could also book a massage. My wife had one (as did the other family) and she loved it.||All in all - we had a fabulous time and for the first time ever we booked for the following year as we checked out. I am not overstating how well they run their hotel and I cannot overstate how much...

A perfect family vacation. The rooms were nice, clean, modern, and spacious. The dinner featured a 4-5 course menu, and the food was truly excellent. The sauna and relaxation pool were a great way to unwind after skiing. Convenient parking at the hotel with no issues.
