It’s beautiful that’s for sure but that’s also about it. I do t mind paying a lot of money for a good stay but trust me when I say your money does not get you anything but a stinky room with a bunch of bugs but yea it’s pretty. I’ve stayed in many wineries around the world and this is the first one I have ever stayed at that didn’t give you some kind of wine tasting or bottle of wine with your stay. EVERYTHING except breakfast cost extra. Water wine food all costs a lot extra and the food was ok. Nothing to brag about. They had the audacity to tell us the Langostine was lobster from Canada. Like come on we’re from America we know what lobster is and this ain’t not lobster sir. Also they gave us such a crazy hard time when we asked for our steak med and not rare. BUT the worst part… when we checked in they were saying to each other in Italian about the room and the lady looked at me and said ok we’re going to give you an upgrade. Well that was a complete lie. The room I booked online was a suit and we got some small room with no privacy. Then after we showered we noticed this crazy smell coming from the bathroom that just got worse and worse until it was just unbearable and we stopped at the front desk on our way to dinner to let them know and they said they would go check it out and come let us know. Well no one ever came and we went back to the room and the smell was so dank it made us nauseous so we went back down to the front desk and they put us in the room next door and I couldn’t believe it but that was actually a nicer and bigger room but still not the suit I booked online. Anyways the floors were kinda dirty in the room but at least it didn’t smell. However if you don’t like bugs this is not the hotel for you. They had these beetles EVERYWHERE. Crawling on the ceiling and ever time you open the window or door there they were … bunches of them trying to get in. I know they can’t control that but all in all this place is no 4 star hotel. Its pretty for sure but trust me it’s not worth the cost. Finally after they had moved us my finace work up starting with a sinus infection that just got worse the whole time we were there. We had mold in our bathroom that they moved us to and we were pretty sure the first room that had the crazy funk smell was some kind of mold and my finace was having a reaction to it. When we checked out and I told the lady how he was feeling and I showed her the mold in the bathroom she had the audacity to tell me my fiance was not sick from mold. Like lady how are you so sure? And we’re both looking at black mold growing on the bathroom wall that should have been tiled. She was just rude. Trust me and Save your money and go...
Read moreOne star is all I can give this place. We do a lot of diligence in our planning and this place has rave reviews so we had no concerns. We’d like to think it was an off week for Borgo Vescine or something — but based on our experience, I would not encourage anyone to stay here. I’ve lived in Europe for 6 months and this was the 3rd leg of our honeymoon trip and it was by far the worst value for your money that I’ve stayed — and I have a high threshold! Absolutely not a 4 star hotel.
The service was awful. If you wanted something, you’d need to first find someone somewhere on the grounds and then ask them to get you what you were looking for. Nobody serves you. There is a pool bar and another bar that says hours are open all day, but never any servers there to take your order. We were staying for our honeymoon and all our other hotels made sure to add something a little special, Borgo didn’t even acknowledge it. We had a lizard in our room and killed over 2 dozen bugs within the first hour. We then asked to move rooms (which ultimately downgraded our stay) and there were no bugs, so that was better. But not a good start! The picnic is all the leftover foods from breakfast packaged up in a cute basket. The wine tasting is them just pouring you 3 of their wines — no conversation, not even telling you what the wines are, unless you ask (a recurring theme here) I got food poisoning our 2nd night and the only food I ate was at the hotel. This had me bed ridden for over 14 hours. Last but not least, they booked a private transfer for us. It was confirmed in writing and reconfirmed the day before. The transportation never showed and ultimately had to be rebooked with a taxi in Florence causing us to wait an hour+ for a new transfer. We were seconds away from missing our train.
The grounds are beautiful, but that is all this hotel has to offer....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Borgo Vescine in Tuscany, and I can confidently say it was one of the most enchanting experiences of my travels. This hotel, set amidst the stunning Tuscan countryside, offers a perfect blend of luxury, charm, and genuine hospitality that made our stay absolutely magical.
From the moment we arrived, the staff at Borgo Vescine went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Their warmth and attentiveness were palpable, making us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our stay.
The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the pool area. Surrounded by lush vineyards and rolling hills, it provided a serene and picturesque setting to unwind and soak up the Tuscan sun. The pool offered breathtaking views, and the poolside service allowed you to sip on refreshing cocktails while relaxing in the sun.
Wine lovers will find Borgo Vescine to be a paradise. The on-site wine tastings were an absolute delight. We were treated to a selection of exquisite local wines, and the staff’s expertise and passion for Tuscan vintages made each tasting both educational and enjoyable. The knowledge they shared about the region’s winemaking traditions added a special touch to each glass.
One of the most memorable experiences was the communal dinner among the olive groves. Imagine savoring a sumptuous Tuscan meal under the stars, surrounded by ancient olive trees and the gentle hum of the countryside and live music. The food was pretty good but the atmosphere was what really made the night. The setting was so magical that it felt like we were dining in a dream.
Do note that this is a very rustic hotel and the rooms reflect that. They are not large but most of the time should be spent outside on the beautiful property. If anything was to be improved, I would suggest newer linens on the beds.
All in all it was a...
