Hotel Krone Mare e Pineta — Hotel in Ravenna

We (myself and 2 teenage children) stayed here from 25-31st May 2015. From the outset, the owner/manager Giovanna went out of her way to accommodate our needs, with prompt replies to emails and flexible options regarding the room and our request for vegetarian food. ||The hotel has a delightful family atmosphere and is run by Giovanna and her daughters. They are all really friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to answer queries and provide information, as well as being always on hand in the reception lobby. ||Our room was nicely decorated in a modern style, with a good standard of cleanliness, efficient air-conditioning, a powerful, hot shower and a balcony overlooking the beautiful pine woodland that surrounds the area. We stayed full-board and enjoyed typical Italian food every day. Chips were definitely not on the menu ! As mentioned above, the staff went out of their way to accommodate our request for vegetarian food, providing us with several choices each day, including the option of a packed lunch if we were spending time away from the hotel in nearby Ravenna or at the theme park, Mirabilandia. Breakfast is Continental style, with a range of cakes and bread, as well as yoghurt, cheese and fruit. On request, you can also have fried or scrambled eggs, but don't expect bacon, sausage, beans etc as this is not the Italian way.||This is not a typical English package holiday hotel. Most of the guests were Italian and German, and in fact a German party we chatted to told us that in 14 years of staying there, they had never seen any other English guests ! However, Giovanna's daughters speak excellent English and we encountered no language-barrier related problems at all. ||Bikes are available to hire and whilst this hotel does not have a pool, the owner also runs the nearby Hotel Sorriso, where there is a fabulous roof-top pool with panoramic views. This is available at all times to guests of Hotel Krone and is just a minutes walk away across the road. The beach is also equally near, and a discount for umbrellas/chairs is available from the hotel. A quieter beach without the lines of chairs is a 10 minute walk away, up the coast. ||I would recommend this hotel if you want an authentic Italian experience in a small (and pretty quiet, at the time of our visit) establishment. Abbiamo alloggiato nella camera regina dal 25 al 28 agosto, eravamo contenti di poter usufruire del servizio all inclusive prenotando quella camera che dalla descrizione doveva essere molto bella. In effetti, la stanza e la struttura in genere hanno un grande potenziale: la stanza, infatti, seppur piccola e moderna è ben arredata. La pecca, però, sta nella pulizia: un po' di polvere si trovava sui comodini e sulle sedie del balcone quando siamo arrivati c'era della sabbia. Dopo la prima notte, io e il mio ragazzo abbiamo fatto velocemente il letto in qualche modo, come usiamo fare di solito in hotel per una nostra idea di rispetto nei confronti di chi pulisce la stanza, inoltre abbiamo lasciato da lavare un paio di asciugamani e il tappeto. Al nostro rientro il letto era come lo avevamo lasciato la mattina e gli asciugamani erano stati portati via ma senza esserci quelli puliti. Fin qui, comunque nessun problema che porti a sconsigliare l'hotel: siamo andati alla reception e in 10 minuti avevamo gli asciugamani con le scuse della cameriera ai piani. Nelle stanze si sentono tutti i rumori del corridoio. Nella struttura, le scale che portano ai piani, raccolgono negli angoli molta polvere grigia e la placca del tasto dell'ascensore è pieno di impronte di dita. La sala da pranzo è piccola, ma con una grande e luminosa vetrata che guarda la Pineta! Spesso ci è capitato di trovare coltelli poco puliti, con qualche impronta probabilmente lasciata dai camerieri posandoli, il segnaposto sul tavolo era unto e impolverato quando siamo andati a pranzo il primo giorno e lo è rimasto fino alla fine del nostro soggiorno, una mattina lo abbiamo trovato all'interno del cesto del pane. Dopo la serata romagnola, nessuno aveva pulito il cestello, che per tutto il giorno successivo ha avuto il tovagliolo e le briciole della sera prima. A colazione la macchina delle bevande calde aveva gocce ovunque secche rimaste li da chissà quanto (il mio ragazzo ha tirato via un filamento che usciva dal beccuccio) e il contenitore di acciaio delle uova era esternamente tutto unto. Consiglieremmo poi di usare una tovaglia per coprire i tavoli, ma questo ci sentiamo di dire che è l'ultimo dei problemi. Per quanto riguarda il cibo, secondo noi si può migliorare per essere una cucina da 3 stelle. Infine, dalle descrizioni fatteci nell'offerta avevamo capito che ci fosse parcheggio per tutti, quando in realtà non è proprio così: suggerirei di scrivere nell'offerta un 'parcheggio secondo disponibilità' per rendere maggiormente veritiera la descrizione. La piscina non l'abbiamo usata mai per cui non sappiamo dire nulla. Per quanto riguarda il personale alla reception è molto gentile, in cucina si trova personale a disposizione per eventuali richieste e o problemi, ma in generale abbiamo notato molta serietà da parte di tutti e soprattutto nelle cameriere ai piani. L'animazione in spiaggia e in hotel è molto buona, i ragazzi sono molto simpatici e ci sanno fare con bambini e adulti, è un buon intrattenimento dato che la zona è molto tranquilla e adatta per le famiglie che vogliono godersi il mare in spiaggia (acqua molto bella) in serenità. Ci dispiace veramente tanto pubblicare questa recensione perché non ci riteniamo troppo esigenti, siamo stati in hotel più vecchi e con meno potenzialità in passato, ma il fatto che si pecchi in pulizia e cucina non rende onore al tutto. We spent five days mid June this year in Lido di Classe. Main destination of our trip was Mirabilandia park, which was fantastic!! Something we will repeat for sure. We did some other trips in this area and really had very good time. Week to remember...||Main reason for choosing hotel Krone was small distance to Mirabilandia.||Hotel is placed at the beach. Parking is available behind the hotel. We did not particularly like the sea, but on other side we did not come for swimming. Stuff at the reception was helpful, but waiter in the restaurant should really improve his behaviour.||Room is small, but has everything inside: very small but newly redecorated bathroom, nice balcony, wifi is working very well. The only thing for improvment are beds. Beds are not comfortable at all. This is the main reason for lower rating.||Breakfast is modest, but you will not stay hungry.
