GREAT VALUE!! This hotel was a great surprise. It is in a country setting, but only a kilometer or so from the main road. Very quiet! It is very convenient to Rome, especially if you have a rental car. It is not within walking distance to everything, so do not expect that and then leave a bad review. It is about 40 minutes drive to the bus/tram in Rome. Very easy to drive to every morning that we went to Rome. We parked the car at the tram station and it was about 3-5 Euro for all day parking. You can't beat that. The man running the hotel, Simone, is very helpful and will give you the directions to the parking lot at the tram. He speaks some English and is very willing to help. It was perfect for us because we were on a budget for hotels and did not want to drive around Rome either. (or pay for parking at most of the hotels) This hotel was super quiet and 4 times less expensive than the hotels closer. It was very clean. They may offer more now, but our breakfast was coffee, juice, and a croissant. It was all we needed to get going and get something more once we got out. Those that expect a large American buffet for the price of this hotel are not being fair. You are in Europe and getting a great value at a family run hotel, be happy with that. There is a beautiful patio overlooking the country side and was great for the bottle of wine we bought each day! Also, if it is still open, there was an AWESOME restaurant maybe 1/2 kilometer from the hotel. It is down a dirt road, built into the side of a hill and sits along side of a creek. You would not expect to have a high-end meal in such a place, but we did for probably 60 Euro including all the wine we could handle. (there is also a pizza place just as you turn off of the main road to go the hotel. It was great for bringing back and sitting out on the patio). To sum it up: A nice, clean, quiet, hotel atop a hill with a country setting and castle type ruins in and around it (that have now been renovated into private residences). Great to come back to after a busy day in Rome. I can't remember if there was a TV, but we didn't need it. Also, unless they have added it, no air conditioner, but we were there the last part of July and it stayed cool on top of the hill where the hotel sits. We never needed it, just the fan. It was very pleasant at night. We will stay here the next time we visit Rome. Tell Simone the...
Read moreWe stayed here for a night on our walk into Rome, worried at the reviews and wondering what we'd find. In fact, we had a pleasant room, good air conditioning, a very clean bathroom, a good welcome, things I'd thought might not work out. Yes, it's a simple hotel. Yes, it's a quiet hamlet with no shops and just one restaurant - the but alternative seemed to us on leaving the hamlet would be the strip mall that is La Storta, very busy and built around a dual carriageway. We were grateful for the peace and quiet of the terrace at Tempio di Apollo. The simple restaurant in the hamlet, about five minutes walk away, produced thin crispy pizza and cool beer. Breakfast was perfectly fine by Italian standards - good bread with stuff to spread on it, a brioche type roll, strong coffee. Don't be put off by the reviews; there isn't much around the area and I think this was a...
Read moreHorrendous experience😵💫 The "Manager/Owner" was very abrupt, rude, obnoxious & downright horrible. Myself & 3 Girlfriends used it on our Via Francigena Walk from Montefiascone to Rome-it was booked for us by Orbis Ways - we'd had Breakfast at half 7 at every other accommodation but he said he couldn't do that it would have to get 8 because he had children!! He said he would leave breakfast out for us .... one pre wrapped tiny croissant & 3 thermos jugs with Tea, Coffee & Milk-the Tea&Coffee was cold as it had obviously been prepared the night before. The rooms & bathrooms were dusty & dirty. The evening we got there, there had been a Thunderstorm that afternoon & both our rooms were flooded - the bed spread had soaked up the water but he never changed it-I could go on & on but it's just making me angry - Please do not use this...
