We stopped here at the end of the third leg of our Europian road trip, enroute to Rome via Venice, having travelled from Dijon over the Grand St Bernard pass, by the time we arrived we were exhausted.||Checking in could have been interesting, the lady behind the desk had no English and my school boy Italian is a bit rusty after forty odd years. A grand daughter was duly summoned and we were booked in and sorted as she has almost perfect English. She even booked us into the restaurant for our evening meal and was also on hand when we checked out the following day.||Our room, a spacious double on the first floor (there is a lift direct from the car park level) was inviting and the king size bed looked and felt comfortable. Plenty of storage for anyone staying longer than one night and a complete en-suite with shower and bath but the thing that made it for us was the view from our window, we could see all the way down the valley, absolutely stunning. The furnishings, towels and bedding were all of first quality and the whole room was spotlessly clean.||Our evening meal was most enjoyable if somewhat pricy, again, interesting as the staff did not know much English but with my pigeon Italian and plenty of gesticulation we managed to make it a fun evening for all concerned.||On arrival we were slightly concerned by the very steep slope down to the rear car park but we made it safely, the difficult part is getting back up to the road and joining it again, daunting even for us and we are professional drivers.||Overall, an excellent port of call for anyone travelling into Italy from France, well worth stopping though suggest booking in advance as this establishment is justly very popular. We will have no hesitation in booking again next time we are...
