Goldknof is the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in.

We stayed in town in Ortisei for the week and were doing day hikes throughout the week. We had a few days left of our trip decided to hike into Alpe di Siusi and find a Rifugio in the mountains.

It was late in the day and after a late lunch, we fortunately stumbled upon Goldknof. We talked with Thomas (who happens to be an elite trail runner too) and from the moment we arrived, we had the warmest feelings. Thomas intro’d us to the area, helped us plan hikes, and shortly after we booked a room in the chalet for the night. We originally planned on staying in Compatsch the next day, but by 8pm that same day (after dinner and the Sauna) we booked a second night.

All of the staff are extremely friendly, thoughtful, and very professional, and the food is incredible, it’s very rich, and fresh, and their dinners are very creative. Our only regret is not staying longer. We hope to come back for annual trips here. Yes the dolomites is a Unesco world heritage site and is simply one of a kind, but so is the Goldknof, we...

We chose the Alpe di Siusi in late June hoping to see the alpine meadows in flower and were greeted with a spectacle far beyond our expectations! We never tired of strolling along the different foot paths, e-biking around the Sassolungo and Sasso Piatto massif, and climbing up to the Schlern for a night in a mountain refuge. Hotel Goldknopf is set right in the middle of this essentially car-free paradise, with views stretching in every direction, and we loved our stay there. The rooms were all modern and clean, with excellent showers and amazing balcony views (it would be a nice touch to add a kettle, though I admit we did not ask). The second sauna is in a chalet of its own and has striking picture windows onto the mountains. Last but not least, half-board is a must. Extremely varied spread at every copious meal, very good wines and excellent service all round. A special mention for our waiter Thomas who provided not only a lot of local knowledge but also contributed to the fun of the whole experience. We are already planning a...

We had an incredible stay at Goldknopf and especially want to highlight how kind and helpful the staff were throughout our visit. ||From the friendly smiles in the morning to the extra effort they put in, for example, although the menu didn’t have many vegetarian options, the team went out of their way to adapt dishes for us and impressed us with the quality every time.||And the location… absolutely unbeatable. You’re right in the heart of it all: surrounded by the Seiser Alm valleys and the breathtaking Dolomite mountains. We highly recommend getting up early for a sunrise walk.||The wellness area is another highlight: the sauna has an incredible view, and with two whirlpools facing different directions, you’ll always have a stunning backdrop no matter the time of day. The rooms offer the same panoramic views.||Oh, and don’t forget to treat yourself to a gin & tonic at the terrace, it’s made with their homemade gin. ||All in all, a perfect stay if you want to truly experience the Dolomites rather than just visit. Highly...

Pahhh this place is amazing. Fancy mountain hotel on Alpe di Siusi. Superb dishes on their sunny terrace and kind staff walking around. Today they even had live Tyrollean music with harp and double bass instruments. Beautiful. Of course we had to come for their big plate of Kaiserschmarren and it blew our mind. Out of all the ones we tried here in Dolomiti this had to be the best. Nice and fluffy, great cranberry jam, an enormous portion, and everything served in a stylish black pan with a small leaf of mint to top it off.

This is an amazing place to rest during the ski. Hotel is located at Paradiso slope. Excellent desserts, food and coffee. And above all The Team and Staff supporting all gests are top class. Helpful and willing to support you with all even unexpected things. Top class service! I am not putting pictures of food because it was too delicious to resist and take a photo but I will try to add it soon.
